here is my is300h i collected her today ,i cant say a lot about her as i haven't driven her much yet but here are some photos taken at the showroom lexus STOKE are absolutely fab the difference between liverpool and stoke is night and day,(liverpool didnt give a monkies) this morning i was taken into my own personal room where they completed the handover ,you where given a cup of tea in the japanese style it was such a relaxing experience you felt like royalty, after the paperwork had been finalised you where taken into the room next door that is like a small showroom where my car was being kept under a black cover (i thought they had a new car waiting to be unveiled) never thought it would be mine ,lexus stoke made you feel like a millionaire,this is where the 2 photos where taken. a BIG thank-you to George,Joe & Natalie

... blimey, that price seems especially dopey methinks .................... starting point would be sub 50% of that figure if i was looking for one AND I would want to factor in a £1000 budget for servicing and cambelt and steering rack potential issues too ...... let alone taking a flyer on the air suspension staying all ok for at least a 12 month. seems amazingly expensive . there'll be another along quite soon !! How does it price compare to an equivalent Ls460 at the bottom end I wonder !!! Malc

It's a nice car but at that price I would want a full and comprehensive Lexus history, actually, the price is very high I think. The thing to always take into account with these cars is that mileage isn't really an issue. I'd rather have one with double that mileage, but with full history. It's up to you but my gut feeling would be find another, unless you got the price way down on this one.

It's possible that the battery is being flattened while the doors are opened as the battery is designed just to kick the hybrid system into life after which the hybrid battery takes over so it isn't the usual cranking power type. May be worth having the 12 Volt battery checked especially if it is the original.

You can't take out an extended warranty on a vehicle with a known fault. If you aren't purchasing the warranty together with an approved Lexus used vehicle then the dealership will need to inspect it to make sure everything is working before issuing a warranty.

Bill, When looking for an RX about a year ago, both the missus and I hated the "Beige" but couldn't find a car within a 60mile radius we liked! Buying used, with such little choice was always going to involve a compromise, hence when we bought ours we managed to get the SE-L spec, 100k miles, 13-pin Witter tow bar, FSH and we fell in love with it on the hour long test drive (and I got it for £4k!) - it also has virtually no stone chips to the front or A pillars, which seems quite common on these from others we saw. :) As time has gone on, we both actually like the colour, it seems to be very gold in the sun and very silvery when overcast and certainly rarer to see the same colour when driving around, it oddly really suits the RX. Would we buy the same colour on any other car... Maybe not! We aren't ready to chuck an emergency picnic blanket, box of tissues (in a fancy holder) and straw hat on the rear parcel shelf yet!! :)

I have always found Lexus to be one of the few manufacturers whose mpg claims are actually achievable! It is important to remember that the quoted figures are literally a BEST case scenario, if you are driving a fully warmed up car, no headwinds, no aircon on, no cold temps that require the engine to heat the cabin, no lots of traffic lights or high speed roads. I took a trip from Croydon to Sidcup, 9am on a weekday morning with the above and got 53mpg, way over the quoted figures but it was hard work making sure to keep it on electric power as much as possible. You want good economy on the motorway then you need to keep the speed down, travelling at a steady 60mph on a flat road is 45mpg. I can get 30mpg on short journeys that would be 16-20mpg in a normal car, long journeys an easy 35-38mpg. Every Lexus I have owned I have been able to get to the figures on certain journeys. The Mercs I have owned though..... Hmmm never have even managed to get to their Urban figures no matter what I do! Lexus give you a choice, drive in a very fuel concious manner and get great mpg or just enjoy and not care and get average mpg. Trust me when I say both will be higher than comparable cars from say MB driven in the same manner.

Or just put a small 12v battery in the vehicle when you go away to use to jump it.

I went to London the other day with a business colleague , then on to Portsmouth. We did 633 miles in the day sharing the driving of my LS 430 2002 with 70k miles on the clock. I just had to try the rear seats and be driven ! It was wonderful, with reclining seats and adjustable massage control. It was a very comfortable experience for very little cost. Over the whole journey and we were not hanging about, my 72 year old colleague was a racing driver in his youth, we got 29.8 to the gallon , which I think is fantastic.

Still there - apparently its normal or something what not! Basically they said it's the pads wearing past a certain point which let's them move around a bit. Nothing to worry about but should go away if pads are changed
