  1. I guess it all comes down to money and risk. I like my SE-L and I can tell the air-suspension difference. Each month - unless I raid it - I save away some cash, for servicing etc. I also have a Lexus Warranty. But reading recent posts, there can be other, equally expensive issues. I think it goes with the territory. The cost of fuel consumption too. But given all that, I am happy to pay for the comfort, ease of driving, AWD, driving position and very definite feeling of being in a safe car - for me and my family.

  3. Hi, I bought a 220d a few months ago with 60k, it had very poor turbo lag, poor economy and sixth gear was a no no under 85!!. I had the egr cleaned. service etc...no change. So i FITTED A DRAKE 2 off ebay, fitted it in about 5 minutes £69. Its made a massive difference.Turbo lag has almost disappeared, economy has risen as my average is now 40mpg, range has even shown the difference. A recent trip to oxford I managed 50mpg. Six gear can now be used from 75 ! The car is now so driveable, its great!

  6. Yes, the upgraded Nav system with bluetooth, introduced with the 400h in June 2005, came to the RX300 in July 2005. Nav and the ICE package were options available on the SE grade with the Nav being standard on the SE-L. It is only the ML stereo you can't get on an SE before the 2006 facelift, at which point the RX300 was discontinued anyway and replaced with the excellent RX350.

  7. Hi Willy, All RX's that are UK spec are AWD (4 wheel drive) so no worries there! If you want Bluetooth, you need to get a '56 plate car as it was built in on most models, think SE and above. Be warned that Bluetooth compatibility between newer phones and the car gets worse the older the car gets. In my opinion, the early Mark Levinson (at least on 2003-2006 cars) is OK but not great. Sat nav can only be updated to a point before you can't get the latest discs with new roads on. You can get a nice after market head unit with reverse cam, sat nav, dvd playback and better Bluetooth support for about £300 quid or so. Bearing this in mind, an SE or LE that has the options you really need, ie: power boot/tailgate and AFS/HID lights and leather seats - would be cheaper to allow you some spare budget to upgrade the audio system! I went SE-L cos I actually like air suspension, but them I'm nuts!!

  11. More than the £510 top bid on eBay, but less that the similar one advertised on AutoTrader for £1990 I've only driven the car 12 miles since last week - it has been carnapped by my girlfriend who has used it everyday since it arrived. Looking forward to getting it back at the weekend.

  12. Finally got around to looking at the rear brakes, new disc and pad. Spent an hour getting the first caliper off, pad pins rusted and lower slide pin seized solid. :( Anyone know the best place to get replacements?

  13. B I N G O - Thanks to Peco84 Just keep the odometer button pressed in & press start without depressing the clutch pedal. The odometer will then show a series of dashes & start counting down, when the dashes disappear it's reset...
