  1. Had you also asked for the little plug in eeprom integrated circuit from the central locking ECU located in the boot area you would only have to have changed the key blade.

  3. I'd be asking was it done when new and if no what's the point on 6 year old paint now. May as well spend the money on a good professional valet.

  4. yes - you are right - they are rare and you have been lucky to get hold of one - did you get the emergency key with yours which is a keyblade held in a credit sized card?

  5. Thanks Rupert. In between downpours I've just managed to undo the pipe at the TB. As I had to chew it up rather with my pliars to get it off, I'm thinking I will dispense with the inbetween tube and get a piece of tubing that runs from the TB around the Fuel rail and into the whatever. It won't need a protective wrap but I may have to get a piece with a right angle so it doesn't collapse. Nuisance that, but don't want a leaking pipe Just found after half an hour a couple of nuts so will remove the studs to make getting the other tubes off that much easier, assuming they do unscrew. When it stops raining.....

  6. Have you checked that the keyless entry isn't switched off under the dash? Some owners turn it off out of preference.

  7. Cougar, that was my first thoughts when I first started having the issue, but I would say with many of the fins missing there is less surface area, so it would get hotter, but with the vents there would be more hot air going into the rad. Going to change my rad as I think the cooling system is under performing, the change of thermostat has helped a lot. .

  8. I over egged it a bit. See below. This was for an evora. Standard kit £650+vat will need overnight, half bonnet & wings, mirrors etc.. Full kit £1150+vat will need two nights, full wings and bonnet, mirrors etc.. http://www.mintcondition-uk.com/ Personally I would ask for option 1 with a full bonnet wrap.

  9. Just come back from holiday in USA . Flew into Los Angleses then up Pacific Highway to Oregon. I have never seen so many Lexus's. Every other car seemed to be a Lexus of some type, and there are literally hundreds of mainly LS 400's, obviously in daily use. They are a massively popular car over there and you can see they were obviously built for the American market. It was a delight to experience.

  11. Good afternoon gents, I've been a lurker on the forums for a few weeks now whilst reading up on the LS400 and, please don't hate me, but I am the purchaser of the aforementioned car! It didn't have an MOT when the deal was struck, but indeed did go straight through the test, requiring just a bulb. It has found a good home, and was not purchased just to MOT and flip on. It is in great order, and was indeed owned by the same family from new - an original sales invoice was even included in the paperwork. I hope to become a regular on the forum, and I'll start a separate thread to update the works taking place. I don't anticipate much in all honesty, a full service is on the cards for next week followed by a wheel refurb and bodywork detailing :) The numberplate didn't come with the car and was retained by the family so it is currently sitting on a K plate. I did look into it prior to viewing the car and retail price was around the £5k mark so I would have thought even the likes of RegTransfers would have paid £2.5k for it. Mark
