  1. Though I'd seen this somewhere... Was down in Dundee for a car meet last night and could't believe there was another LS! Funny to see the differences between the factory & #Stance look of the two! The owner was nice as well and like me could't believe another LS was going about. Only bad thing is now my friends want me to get mine lowered/air bagged..

  2. Thought I'd take a short clip of the car to hopefully get across how it looks after the detail. It has been out but you get the idea. Also, products I mention are purchased from dooka UK not booka!

  4. I've had my Is300h for several months now and my only criticism is the suspension. I find it much harder than my old IS250 and given my back problems(ex military, sky diving and motorcycle accident) I am finding it more and more uncomfortable. I don't want to go back to an IS250 so can anyone suggest a way of improving the ride? I have got rid of those dreadful portenza tyres and now on michelins. They are a little better but the car still thumps and bangs on our crappy roads in Oxfordshire. The car has only done 20,000 miles. Thanks for looking Ray

  7. Hi mike, We have the Persian Quartz RX with the champagney/beige interior, the former owner had matching summer Lexus floor mats (which the stupid dealer binned as he said they looked grubby rather than shampoo them) the former owner also had black Lexus "winter" mats which are in the car currently and our carpet underneath is exactly as yours, a weird greenish tint! I know all jap cars in UK spec since the mid-nineties had different UV blocking glass installed (another reason imports are usually inferior) - you can certainly "feel" this in effect if you open the sun roof on a hot day and put your hand to the window (in the sun) then put it in the sun from the sunroof. This explains why the plastics and soft furnishings in the cabin shouldn't fade in time with proper Lexus glass (unsure if this is the case with cheaper "auto glass" style window replacements). So I think sunlight causing this can be ruled out! There is definitely something in the mats causing this, which is a real shame as the carpets protected by the mats should be in pristine condition and look disgusting! I have various shampoo products, and we'll give them a try, if I find one that makes a dent, I'll let you know. We'll also wash the mats in case something on them causes this issue and hope it washes out. Thanks, Chris

  8. The ignition needs to be on, then you push and slide the door open/eject button.

  10. Many thanks for all your comments and advice. (It is a super website, despite what others might say! LOL) I have now gone for a LS 400. I was too concerned about the suspension issues on the 430 to take the risk. I have bought a one owner, 72,000 mile, 1998 MkIV, with service history. Owned from new by a man in his 80's.who has given up driving. It is in very good condition inside and out, with original sheepskin mats. All handbooks and tool kit - torch is still in the plastic! Everything seems to work except the key fob to open the boot. No dents or major scratches. It drives like a dream. I had forgotten how quiet the engine is at tick-over. I believe have tried everything electric - all works. Very slight wear on driver's seat (usual place). Alloys could do with a refurb but not terrible. Very tight to get in the garage, but I think worth the effort! I sound the horn and the wife comes out to spot for me! Will post some photos. I think I paid a fair price for such a gem - but I feel worth every penny ! Will post more on how it drives / runs as I use it. Thank you once again for all your advice. Regards Dave

  11. I don't think you need to remove the tray. There is a cover which unclips and once removed gives you access to the front of the drive.

  12. I use it a lot to slow the car down without having to use the brakes (when and where conditions allow) Regards John

  14. I still prefer the original look. It seems "wrong" to mess with such a good car. Each to their own taste. just trying to load a photo!

  15. Thanks Chris - the challenge is that any new car takes 3-4 years from design to delivery and it is getting impossible to keep pace with fast change in technology. By the time engineers are integrating or testing iPhone 4/5 iPhone 6/7 would be out by the time of car being launched. Anyway I have good news for users who want to use the online search feature (think I have cracked it without using 6310!). Thanks for the tip, a nostalgic reminder of my days in telecom industry :) I have downloaded BlueDUN app from android play store, removed existing pair connection from navigation and phone (Samsung S5 in my case) and then repaired again. I have now Google search working with Samsung S5 using the portal account. iPhone bluetooth stack is pathetic so there is no hope with iPhone 4/5 however I think iPhone 6 has DUN protocol working so if anyone can check that, would be great. Another neat benefit of Android phone is that messages are read as they arrive and emails can be read as well. Very useful and clever feature with full protocol stack working (under detailed bluetooth setting). Having testing the online search it is not the smartest feature as it might be quicker checking on phone and then entering the destination. Any questions, will try to help.

  16. Do make sure that your mirror selector switch, the one that you use when adjusting the mirror, is set to either the left of right mirror, as if you have it in the central position this turns the auto dip off.

  19. Bilt Hamber products seem to get the best write up these days. I used a couple of tins to protect underneath my wife's RX, turned out fine, but time will tell. Pete

  20. The 430 is more plentiful, so more choice. The 400 has a well proven record of outstanding reliability. The cabin in the 430 is (in my opinion) much nicer and with much more room. The 430 (according to my insurance company) is a safer car. I've had two LS400's and as brilliant as they were, I wouldn't now go back to one having experienced the LS430. If I was to look for another one with the intention of keeping it for some time, I would have coils springs put on and make sure I had the potential radiator problem made safe. LS400 die hards may disagree, and I can certainly understand why they would.

  21. That's good. I upgraded from an HTC One X to an HTC One and Messaging now works but Online search is still not working. With the Messaging I wish there was an option to only get text messages popping up and not email but there isn't. Don't need to know someone wants to sell me Viagra when I am driving around the M25!
