  1. My Lexus Source from whom I get all my information about future models has told me that Lexus are working very hard on completely new software for the IS - He said something like MM13 - no idea what that means but it should be out in a couple of months and its a MASSIVE improvement over the current system.

  2. You wont have any trouble - they'd probably do it even out of warranty if you complain enough. lexus are as tight as a duck ar** i hadn't had my ct that long and i found the lacquer had started to peel off 1 wheel ,i took it back to lexus liverpooli showed them the peeling lacquer and they arranged a time to have the repair done, when the repair guy was doing the wheel i had service come to me saying they should be charging me for the repair as they found another dodgy piece of lacquer by a wheel hole but as a gesture of goodwill they wouldnt charge me,i think they thought i should be gratefull to them at the end of the day it still had an issue that was down to poor painting. just because you deal with lexus doesn't mean they will treat you well, they are only there to make money. That's not true. I had a stuck handbrake, totally my fault as I washed the car in winter and let it stand for 3 weeks. They did it for free. Completely and wholly depends on how firm you are, how well you explain what you want doing and exactly how you want it doing and the person you are dealing with The fact that they did your paint for free is enough. It doesn't matter if they said "goodwill gesture" or not. Try dealing with Mercedes and you'll know what I mean. They won't even pay if your bumper falls off. Lexus paintwork is immaculate from the factory. In all honesty if you're getting clear coat peel on a Lexus either it's had a poor repair in the past, some sort of smart repair or its down to negligence on the owners part. Of course it could be totally random but you'd be pretty unlucky

  3. I have used various, some cheap and some upmarket. They all seems to work, but I am currently using Meguairs 'ultimate wash & wax anywhere'. They also do a detailing spray which would be fine if planning a proper wax job after cleaning. same spray as for claying. With care you will not scratch or swirl anything. If you are not careful, then no doubt you could - as with conventional washing. Auto glym do an aerosol spray 'showroom shine' which is fine for shining up a car that is reasonably clean already. old and new car shown here after waterless cleaning. the old one must have had four years of that treatment, and still looked good when I sold it

  4. Why? People pressing the brake pedal rather than just coming off the throttle is the biggest cause of congestion on the motorway. The system will use the brakes if it needs to slow down that quickly, such as somebody pulling into your lane, and will bring on the lights.

  5. I asked my dealer to change mine from 3 flashes to 5 and I was told it couldn't be done. I then did it myself following the instructions on-line and e-mailed them to the dealer. They were every so slightly embarrassed to have a customer show them how to do it.

  6. I too am retired Richard, collected my 250 in Dec. 2013 and have done 6500 but I may add possibly 2/3 of that is with taking the " scenic route " to where ever I'm going, it is a pleasure to drive. I'm ashamed to say my average MPG stands at 28.3 at the moment, I just can't help myself that V6 is wonderful. D I picked up my IS250 Premium in October 2013 and have just clocked up 6800 miles. My two previous cars were 250 auto transmissions and I was so impressed with them that I felt that a 300h would be a retrograde step. A test drive in a 300h convinced me that I was right. My mpg is pretty similar to yours although on a trip from Gloucestershire to the Lake District (well over 200 miles of motorway or modern dual-carriagway), I just managed 42mpg. Sorry, Simon07, but Sonic Titanium looks bloody awful on a Lexus!

  7. As an update, my AC is working fine. The rear is blanked off with some blanking nuts, everything is running great and cool. Remember to put 650g gas in.
