  1. Hi fellow ISF owners. Just had the ISF delivered to the front door in Lincoln, from Lexus Cheltenham. Part-ex for my 2008 IS250. ISF is 2009 plate 21k on the clock and is brilliant, no mods, just sitting in the drivers seat I can feel the 416 horses waiting to go, even with the engine switched off, looking forward to taking her out on the raod later today. May be going shopping in the car is a good thing now ??

  2. Hi Den I'd sort the suspension problem asap. If the sensor fails or breaks you could drop the back end and damage the suspension air bags. I did - and then changed the air suspension for standard struts - you should be able to find the post in the forum. I have done 240K miles and am about to replace my steering column actuator for the third time. It takes 20 mins and the bits are £160. The rear air con pipes go over the back axel and were a factory recall - cut em and cap em - make sure you reduce the amount of fluid you put in the system when you refil it - there is a post on the forum about this. I am a BFB and my driver’s seat broke - I got one from a scrapper but now my leather is wearing out - the rest of my seats are mint. Buy an old car and you become a hobbyist mate - I bought mine brand new. Thanks a lot for giving the 400 owner’s cognoscenti the chance to trot out their well worn logical fallacies :) :) I had 3 LS400s and the 430 is superior :) Cheers Bren

  5. Whatever you do, don't lubricate the strut pistons. Do that and they'll never work properly again.

  6. Hi all, panic over, tried it this morning and all now working, must have been due to the steam cleaning of the carpets. Thanks for your help

  7. That voltage does seem a little low. You can get weird fault codes generated because of this. Either the battery needs to be fully charged, or replaced, and then see if you still get errors.

  10. Normally the check engine light should come on and then go off so you know it is working.

  12. Simon, I must admit, I've always admired Jags and would love to drive an XJR one day, but not to keep. I prefer less hassle reliability wise, with my nice LS.

  13. I'm puzzled Malc. I thought the 400 system was mild steel? Back boxes apart, I see stainless ware underneath my lamentable 430. My MK4 has a complete stainless steel exhaust system as do all the other MK4s

  14. ..... I think your feat of endurance and success is brilliant . undertaking such a momentous task ..... Now I guess there's a good deal of appreciation for why changing the cambelt etc with a garage is so darned expensive. When I had my Mk1 " done " , many years ago now, the local garage actually took one whole working day to achieve the end result even tho' the " book hours " then by Lexus was only about 3hrs or summat Malc
