  1. I think I will phone them on Monday. Even if I don't buy another LS430, I may do the conversion on my current car. It's just a case of deciding if I should do it on a car with 145K on the clock, although the engine still runs beautifully,as does the transmission. The way I see it is if the suspension was converted, the transmission/water possible problems were addressed, there's no reason why the LS430 shouldn't be as tough as its predecessor, it is after all more or less the same with regards to the engine and transmission.

  3. As far as I am aware this can only be performed by a Lexus dealership. This question has been asked a few times....and to the best of my knowledge that was always the outcome. Sorry......but if you find a way do let us all know.

  4. I'd say that the DVLA should say 26,100. 261,000 is a lot for a car only just over two years old.

  5. WeBuyAnycar offer £3275............... That's not actually what they will pay you, when it comes down the them giving you £3275, that figure just bait. You agree to that offer then when you take the car to where Webuyanycar will take the car from you and give you your money, suddenly your car haqs got so many faults you wont even recognise your own car, you will be lucky to get £1000 for it. Don't fall for their advertising rubbish, life just aint that easy. Mike.

  6. Pete ,If you look at the sight glass on the drier. the tubular canister in front of the Radiators , the glass should run clear of foaming bubbles after a few seconds after the A/C is switched on. If that is not happening the system is short of refrigerant. The pipe that should ice up is the thick one running into the condensor adjacent to the the battery it will show frost if the engine compartment is not hot . The narrow pipe on the firewall with the grey filler cap with a L on it should also be cold and will have condensation on it if everything is normal. Run the system analysis and check the code for compressor circuit fault, Its on the threads in the archives .

  7. All of this is quite funny!! A few years ago when I bought my Rover 75 Connoisseur in dark blue, after I had had it for a few weeks, I began to wish that I had got the higher spec jobby and so, I started to look around for one and luckily one turned up, exactly the same colour as mine. There were a lot of differences mind, leather seats being one of them, different alloys, computer etc etc. Went off and did the swap, got it home and the car was used on a daily basis by both of us but, it took my wife, friends and family close on 4 months before they realised that I had changed it!!!

  8. I did that 3 years ago when I got my car. I collected on a Saturday morning at 9, rolled up in the house at 10 and got on with protection (I asked for no PDI, just removal of stickers and inspection). My wife was like "WTF?!" Hmm beans on toast you say? Toast is valuable, beans and a spoon should suffice!

  10. i dont see anything wrong with the advert, for starters its a 12 year old car. he has confirmed the car needs a service as the last one carried out was around 15k miles ago, been 3 years but doesnt mean the pistons will start melting these things are over engineered. he has confirmed issues with the car i.e steering column, etc. he also welcomes any viewings before making a bid which its a good thing if he had something to hidehe would not accept viewings or test drives. i see it like this so long as it clears HPI check, MOT histroy check, there are no signs of leaks, engine starts up and revs smoothlky with no rattles or hesitation, gearbox shifts through all ratios ok, no engine lights coming on and air suspension goes up and down during viewing/test drive then sounds like a bargain to me. we all know this car is not worth 13k not even 10k at its age but with all things working as its supposed to i would happily pay £3-£4k for it. these macjines were over £40k brand new and at only 70k it has a lot of life left in it. knock the price down get a full service including plugs and all fluids changed and cambelt , get it professional valeted and wheels refurbed and you good to go. I think he has been honest..
