  1. Right, so made a reservation to see a local car, started planning a trip with the intention of buying one in Edinburgh. Finished Work Early, decided to take a close look at one at the dealer just down the road from where I work. Walked out after paying £1K deposit on an brand new IS300H executive edition in Mica Metalic Grey with black leather interior. Still not quite sure how that happened! They are hopeing that it will arrive by the 18th of June, can't wait :) Right, now time to tell the wife what I have just done! Thanks for all your feedback guys. Time to do some reading on owning a Hybrid!

  2. Hi Guys, It took me ages and lots of online searching to find some feature tips n tricks here n there. I have hand picked few ( hand clicked :) )which i really liked. so here they are. If you have any thing to add please feel free. Thanks When you put the L/R mirror on and you put your car on reverse, the mirrors turn downwards allowing you to see the floor behind. If you hold the unlock button on the remote down for more than 2seconds all the windows roll down There's a rotary knob underneath driver's side dash that adjust the loudness of the beep when you lock and unlock your car ( i have not tried this yet ) Smartkey: If you leave the key inside the car and try to lock the vehicle using the door buttons it can detect the key is inside the car and warns you with a long beep ...how does it know whether the key is just inside the door or just outside in your pocket? Beats me. Smartkey (2): You can assign seat setting presets to each individual key (husband and wife for example) by pairing a key with a seat position preset button (1, 2 or 3). From then on whenever that key unlocks the car the seat will automatically adjust to the right position without having to press the seat memory button. Bluetooth Phone: You can get around the "can't dial when the car is moving" problem by simply dialing the number from the phone in your pocket - it will still come through hands-free once the connection is made. Bluetooth Phone (2): If you have a PDA that uses your bluetooth phone to sync it won't work while the phone is connected to the car. To get around this temporarily you can tell the car to try to connect to a different phone that you have previously paired (just borrow one for this purpose). As it attempts to pair with the other phone (the other phone doesn't have to be present for this to happen) it will release the current phone and therefore allow you to sync your PDA. Just reverse the process to pair the phone with the car again afterwards. Bluetooth Phone (3): If you switch off the car during a handsfree conversation the phone will offer you option of transferring the call back to your phone to continue it (works on Sony Ericsson T610 at least). Door Storage Pockets: You can actually pull these and they will swing outwards 45 degrees to more easily get to items. I Agree Button: You can get rid of this prompt on the Nav system by saying "I agree" into the voice recognition system when this screen is first presented rather than pushing the button. Be aware the voice recognition system in the LS430 isn't all that great (as you know) so it might require a few attempts until it correctly acknowledges the command. Rear massaging seats will change speed if you hold down the button The 3rd button bellow volume controls on sterring wheel is preset volume memory button. set your volume to where you want it tobe then hold the 3rd button down for about 5sec untill you hear a beep. (I got my set to very low volume, so i can just tap it when i need to answer my cell) Don't forget the little roll of material behind the rear view mirror to keep the sun out of your eyes. Just pull it down...how neat is that

  3. Isn't it Oct 2011 for the DRLs and instrument cluster? My early 2011 doesn't have these and I always thought it was just a few months later they brought them in. The latest update also put the Sport button on the steering wheel. If your 2011 vehicle didn't have these changes then it was one that was ordered before Oct 2010 and was in a showroom unregistered for a period of time. I've found the original press release, attached. 2011-lexus-is-f-majors-on-minor-changes.pdf

  5. So if I had a GTR with £50K of receipts for modifications, I'd have to sell it for the same price as a standard GTR of similar age and mileage?! Rubbish! How about when it's been a feature car in a top tuning magazine? Still worth the same as an OEM 08 IS-F? Or less according to some people on here! :( Think I'm done with this forum. Thanks but no thanks. :(

  8. Thank you all very much for taking the time to reply. Very useful and has put my mind fully at ease regarding the battery. I have decided to go for a car with Parking sensors (I was actually talking to a few colleagues today about my Mazda and was asked about a few scratches and a little bit of chipped paint on the rear bumper and I had an epiphany, while I might not need parking sensors, it will definitely save me money when I let my wife drive it!). I suppose they only have to stop one minor bump and they have paid for themselves. I’ve seen a really good nice looking one at Lexus Edinburgh which I really like the colour of, so hopefully that might justify a weekend away as well :hocus-pokus: Hopefully I can manage to blag a test drive of one this weekend then make a deal on the Edinburgh one (without actually seeing it!). I was thinking if I paid for a RAC inspection and asked them to send me plenty of HiRes images then there shouldn’t be any surprises.

  9. I wouldn't of thought any mods would increase the asking price. If anything less, as most people want standard and even if they are into modding they would want to do themselves from standard.

  10. You need to tell your son he needs to stop acting like a old man :P We waited till Jag released the production images of the XE before ordering the IS300H. The XE in my view doesn't look any more exciting than our 6 year old E90 BMW 3 series. ....infact if anything the E90 has a nice rear/boot proportion compared to the XE. I finally saw on in the flesh at the local shopping centre, I nearly walked straight past without noticing it, the design already looks out of date...If Jaguar is already doing £4K off the list price, sales cannot be going well, which is shame for Jag, but it's a missed opportunity for Jaguar to come up with something exciting.

  11. LOL the A-class is far inferior than an IS300h. You made the right decision - the plastics in the A-class are awful!

  12. Sorry Rayaans, I disagree. The Lexus UK brochure states leather seats, not nuluxe, or artificial leather. The F-sport std seats are cloth centers with "Tahara" bolsters, which is effectively vinyl. The seats on the Exec and Premier models are stated as Leather, as are the options on the Luxury and the F Sport. If they were fake, they couldn't call them Leather. it says that in the UK brochure, the price list and on the UK website.

  13. I think somewhere in the world a group of women are probably asking the question 'Does your husband waste time on car forums like mine?? They already have the car, but still waste time trying to justify their purchases to other people'
