  2. I have a 1995 ls400 here in Sweden . I have a tip that made the crank shaft bolt very easy with no drama. (Also should be easy to retorque . I will use a long wrench and a simple digital luggage scale). I bought a very large 46 mm open end wrench . Was equivalent of 8£ !, Not high quality probably. Was possible with a normal battery drill to make two 8 mm holes in the U-shaped part 66 mm apart. Two 8 mm screws in there secured with nuts is a perfect match for two 8,5 mm holes in the crank belt Wheel (25 mm Deep). Then a firm yank at the 22 mm with a long armed socket wrench (15£) and the bolt came loose easy. A normal socket wrench kit with a piece of pipe would probably have sufficed. Mikael

  3. If the BBC meetings are anything like those on the BBC series W1A, anything is possible. I like Guy Martin - ay? ay? but that's it. Jodie Kidd would be a disaster. Remember Kate Humble? they wouldn't even let her on screen unaccompanied. Philip Glenister, I may be totally out of order here, but he exudes an air of arrogance that I took an instant dislike to. 1 out of 3 will not be enough for me to watch it. I did try to watch the classic car show as I love my old cars, but even fast forwarding in parts I could not bear to watch any more so deleted the entire series. HoW hard can it be !!! ??? to paraphrase someone

  6. I myself have a 2013 ISF, I like the style of the new grille and considering doing this mod on mine but trying to find a bodyshop willing to take it on Andy......you aren't a million miles away....it'd be worth taking a drive down to Essex to see Ahmed's handy work in the flesh. You never know he may be able to point/advise/help. On a personal note...I think what he has done is gob-smackingly admirable from just about every stand point. He is exhibiting a very considerable degree of skill and understanding. Take a read of his other posts where he has wrapped the whole car...it used to be silver. I'd never do any of this myself....but I think he's doing amazing stuff here and I'm enjoying seeing the fruits of his damned hard labour. Good on you Ahmed.

  7. I don't think it's got anything to do with modding to make it look like a 2014 car. You recently got your wheels re-finished, does that mean you're trying to make your wheels look newer than they are rather than buying new wheels? no amount of painting them is gonna make them newer than buying a new set of wheels. It's just cosmetic enhancement that suits your tastes, exactly the same way with this mod which is just a custom bumper and no different from someone buying an aftermarket bumper or bodykit. It doesn't mean just because someone has an aftermarket bodykit/bumper they trying to make their car look newer than it is. I myself have a 2013 ISF, I like the style of the new grille and considering doing this mod on mine but trying to find a bodyshop willing to take it on. That doesn't mean i'm modding it to make it look like a 2014 3IS, I wouldn't want a 2014 3IS i'm quite happy with my 2013 ISF, but it doesn't mean I cannot customise and personalise.

  9. Autosmart Brisk - low foam version for the seats. For fabric seats id recommend getting a wet/dry vacuum - good thing is you can use it on the carpets too. Just dilute at 1:20, spray on, agitate with a brush and suck it all out after a while with a vac. Works very well.

  10. Possibly but the fact that it is being posted up on a public forum implies a level of feedback is expected or even desired, good or bad?

  12. Ambermarine, to stop the crankshaft pulley from turning you can lock the flexplate (lightweight flywheel) that the torque converter is bolted to. You do this by removing the undertray and then removing the flexplate access plate. You can then wedge a large allen key into one of the flexplate (flywheel) holes. You then slowly rotate the 22mm pulley bolt anti-clockwise until you feel resistance on the allen key. Using a long breaker bar the bolt will come free. This is a successful method used by one of our American friends on their forum. Hope this helps. Titch
