  1. I'm planning on fitting a Dyson multi vortex vacuum cleaner on mine, it works by connecting it to the vacuum lines and providing extra suction, dragging more air into the inlet manifold and therefore producing a lot more power from the engine whereas a supercharger blows more air in. It's very consistent as there is no bag to get clogged so no loss of suction, just clean the hepa filter every 6000 miles. I've had it running really well with the car parked but discovered on a road test the mains lead is a little short and the plug comes out of the socket in the garage after travelling 10 yards, I'm obviously still working on this small annoying problem but have seen a 50 metre extension cable on Amazon. :)

  2. Agree totally with toffee_pie, below are my comments posted recently in the thread "IS300h As a Family Car" I have to agree totally with these comments. They are precisely me. If you could hear my wifes comments when I am parking my car! I am so fussy, even to the point of moving it again if I think I need to. If I should ever be cajoled into going to the supermarket in my car, I always park as far away from the entrance as possible, much to my wife's annoyance. If I have to park amongst the many, then I always look for a space between other quality motors. I always keep a bottle of Bird Dropping spray handy too, the seagulls round here enjoy Bomber Command status!

  3. a helpful chap at the last MOT left a grubby hand print on the felt door pillar on mine...... luckily some standard car upholstery cleaner did the trick... 'carplan' I think, nothing special.. just what I had at home.... very impressed.

  4. My old W124 or 95 e class was the most comfortabe car i had ever driven. I think it is the weight of the LS400. When you go over any pot holes you always feel it. I changed everything on my mk3. My brother who drove it as well and other guests in passenger said it was extremely smooth and quiet. I never felt the "carpet ride" or understood it.

  6. Comfortable again back in my own car :) although I'm sure I'd be able to find better comfort in the Exec given more time to try different seat positions

  7. Have you tried the eurocarparts web site? Put in your vehicle details and it should give you the battery options that fit.

  8. This is normally because the hybrid energy recovery is providing most of the braking resistance so the mechanical brakes are just lightly scraping the discs. As a result the mechanical brakes may not be used that much and they rust/glaze making the noise worse. Try braking hard from speed a few times to really use the mechanical pads to help clear them up to see if that helps.

  9. Have you changed those parts without retrieving the fault codes by plugging it into an obd2 code reader or getting a garage to run a diagnostics? get the fault codes it'll tell you what the problem is or the area where the problem is.

  10. I'm guessing you mean "used" not "sued" otherwise I'll ask no further questions but avoid them :)

  11. I think the main problem in the UK is the continuing deterioration of the roads. I bring my 460 across regularly and it is the first thing I notice. Here, in Holland, I never use the Comfort setting on the suspension but in the UK I have it selected all the time.

  12. The motors sieze due to lack of grease. They are VERY easy to take off and manually manipulate to move the workings ie turn the threaded rod . You can, if you wish, strip them down and Di a thorough clean as they are only tabbed over on the motor housing. I did both if mine with varying degrees of success and now they work fine . It gets gritty, insude the motor and because the motor is a flat disc type rather than your atypical motor they need the surfaces ckeaning and lubricating Hope it helps

  13. Hello and welcome to the LOC. When you say the steering wheel tilt/telescope doesn't function correctly what exactly is it doing not working at all, intermittently working, moving slowly or something else? The earlier models were easily fixed witha tupenny washer but on the later models this is no longer the case as they use a different type of motor and as you have discovered these are not cheap. The Toyota Land Cruiser does however use the same motor which is considerably cheaper than the Lexus part.
