  1. At last ... Remove centre console ... Remove metal brackets each side of stereo ... Remove yellow plastic cover from back of air con control ... You need to put foam between the black plastic and yellow plastic where the screws go ... I pushed small pieces of foam over the screws so it would stay in place. Replace yellow plastic ... For good measure I pushed foam were the yellow tags go through the side of the black side casing (you'll see what I mean ) Replace metal brackets with foam between yellow plastic and metal as extra sound proofing. Replace centre console I've done a few hours now with heater on and NO crack sound ... Usually it would crack pop after 20 mins Hope this helps

  2. Yes, just weld it on to the remains of the original damaged nut [after it has been tidied up], so you get a secure weld.

  4. Sound like a good one overall, the valve that needs replacing sounds like the VSV fault quite common I understand, cheap part wise but expensive getting to it with labour running into several hours, but integrated into a cam belt change maybe it will work out cheaper. Same with the parking sensors get them replaced while the bumpers are off in the paintshop, not sure if they are OEM only or there are aftermarket parts available.

  5. Jason Plato, Edd China and Chris Harris would be my personal choice, as a host of experience between them all in different fields of motoring! Or just get good ol William Woollard back! :P

  6. Bob Flavin would be an inspired choice. He could resuscitate the programme. It would definitely be a nice, relaxed watch

  7. I`m trying to convince myself that this is not too bad of a job ! I would think removing rad would be advisable, maybe better access and less risk of damaging it ? Not sure about replacing crank oil seal if its bone dry, even if it starts to leak in future would it not last till the next belt change? One bit that frightens me is the crank bolt and how tight it is going to be,was thinking of investing in an electric windy gun. I presume the belt marks are just another point of reference for cam timing. Hope the job goes well. Simon

  9. BECAUSE THE BBC IS ONLY INTERESTED IN RATINGS AND IT IS SO EASY TO SPEND SOMEONE ELSE`S MONEY (YOURS AND MINE!) Regards John The trouble with you John is you just sit on the fence. Only joking. I am aware of the way the BBC wastes our money. I believe the wine and food bill for the last accounting year was £49 million, but then when you are given £4.7 billion in license payers money plus product placement fees which if course the BBC never does as they don't advertise and of course there are the retail sales to add and when all that is taken into account £49 million for a few meals and some vintage wine is a mere trifle. Mike.
