  2. Ha ha ha, made me think about a photograph I saw some time ago where you could fit 2 Smart cars into a standard parking space, you do realise that the Smart car has one thing the ISF doesn't....... a turbocharger! Having said that the egines are under 1000cc. You could always put a sticker on the rear end "MY OTHER CAR IS A LEXUS ISF" I just hope they do an excellent job on your ISF and it was worth all the pain and suffering :)

  3. Collectors car. Maybe, I can see that happening due to the significance for Lexus, the almost unirlversal appraisal from enthusiasts and critics alike, the spec, reliability, styling, rarity etc etc etc It is a corker of a car and truly took the competition to Mercedes and BMW. I truly believe there is no better all around car available year for year and price for price. Stu

  4. I bought my 400 in June 2011 at 93K milage with a 12 months warranty included - ayear later I decided that as I was keeping the car I would purchse the 2 year extended warranty, i month later I noticed green liquid in the drive under the car. I had this checked out by Lexus Bradford and was told the transaxle was leaking. this was replaced under the warranty and would have cost me £3500 otherwise. Since then I have bought another 2 year warranty and intend to change the car next year when this runs out. It may sound a bit expensive but I prefer the peace of mind of knowing all the major items and some of the not so major ones are covered

  7. Toyota Techstream is really the only thing that can be used. Toyota don't release their proprietary diagnostics information so any other tool has just used a reverse engineering method to try and work correctly. The downside is having to pay a four figure sum to legally obtain the right to use Techstream. Our forum T&Cs don't allow the discussion of obtaining software illegally.

  8. Now how does the unit work? The Grom Audio unit “fools” the headunit into thinking an external CD changer has been fitted. It converts the headunit commands into ipod commands. If you have no CD’s in the drive – hit the CD button on the stereo and it will go straight to Ipod (the display will show “CD1”) – if you have CD’s in the drive hit the CD button once to go to CD player (display shows “CD”) then push it again to go to Ipod mode (“CD1”). In Ipod mode – when you select “Disc 1” – the ipod is in Manual Control – you can control volume/next-prev track on the headunit but that is all. Everything else is controlled from the ipod itself - track/album selection etc. Choosing Disc 2-9 – puts the Ipod in disc mode – each Disc accesses a different playlist. So you can access your first eight playlists. In this mode you can control volume/prev-nxt track and the RAND button will randomise your current playlist. Using the SCAN button will allow you to move +/- 10 tracks for quick surfing. Now’s a good time to organise your ipod too – I chose to create playlists based on genre and named them with numerals at the front. So there you go – the whole job takes about an hour and the difference in sound versus tape/FM adapters is immense as is the increased convenience/safety of being able to control everything via the head unit.
