A few of my friends & colleagues think I'm a drug dealer thank's to the car...I'm 21, night shift worker and running such a massive car! And the other half of my friends think I'm over compensating for the Suzuki Cappuccino I have! (little and large to the extreme in size!) Still laugh everytime somone comments about the car & my age!

Hi all, I have started this topic trying to help anyone who has a problem with the hybrid battery on a lexus gs450h . About a month ago i was stuck in traffic and the check hybrid system came up on but the car was still drivable and only a bit more lazy on acceleration . After i arrived at home i plugged the scanner and it came with the error code P0A7F - Hybrid Battery Pack Deterioration and check VSC message. I have cleared the code and looked at the battery modules voltage but they were all looking fine so i assumed it was just a one off. The car was fine but after one week same thing happened again and meanwhile the car was feeling a bit different anyway, the only difference this time it was the error code P0A80 - Replace Hybrid Battery Pack. Unfortunately my car has done 124k miles and also the last service was done with an independent specialist so i had no warranty. I kept researched on-line and i found someone in Northampton that recondition and repair hybrid batteries for Honda & Toyota. Meanwhile i have also discussed with someone from London and he said he will fix my car in 4 hours but he never done one before. I decided to use the guy in Northampton who's name is Richard, a very nice guy and helpful. He said he will need the car between 5 and 7 days and will give 10k miles warranty or one year , whatever comes first . Dropped the car on on Tuesday because it was still drivable just without abs, vsc and cruise control and picked it up this Wednesday . The car feels great now and also the fuels consumption is with a few mpg's better. Hi, I have 8 year old twins and we have enough room. Weekly shopping fits in the boot. We went to a caravan park in France last year although I did have a roof box. We had enough space for cases and all the required gear! Few pics here. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

Welcome back to the Lexus fold, have you seen the washer bottle float repair tutorial (costs nothing apart from time and a little of the wife's nail varnish). Struts can be reconditioned at SGS in Derby. There is also a good tutorial for the cam belt change on lexls.com if you are planning on DIY. Should still be worth more than you paid for the car and maintainence when all the jobs are done.

Be wary this guy has many things in common with that well loved Lexus seller we have all come to love. Mike.

My kids are all in their forties now and so I don't have that problem anymore. However, what I would say is, I don't like driving around without a spare wheel and so I have purchased a spacesaver and obviously this takes up valuable space in the boot. When we go off to the caravan (regularly) I find that I have to load up part of the rear seat as the dog takes up one half of it. If you're not put off by the thought of putting gunge in a punctured tyre (I am) then the boot is of a reasonable size without the spacesaver. From a personal standpoint, If I were (many years) younger and had a family, I would not buy the IS300h. I'm just glad that my kids are all grown up and so are the grandchildren, they no longer want to go out with nan and gramps and, this has put me in the marvellous position of being able to own and enjoy my car, and boy do I love it!

Hi Noo bie The first part to always get right is the battery connection/ disconnecting phase, Always always disconnect the negative(earth)lead first and then the positive and when reconnecting ensure the negative goes on last so earth of first earth on last. This will ensure the best possible protection for the delicate circuitry inside the ecu's. Also if any members ever have to have the unfortunate issue of a car needing any welding ,then once the battery has been disconnected (as above) then the positive and negative leads need to be bolted together and the welder should always connect his equipment as close to the repair area as possible. Connecting the leads together effectively makes the complete car wiring system many miles long and will help the dispers the large electrical current generated thus again protecting the very expensive ecu's
