  3. Ishaq, Can you please give me number of this guy? I recently bought an used Lexus IS220d from a private seller. I am planning to get fuel filter and rear calipers unseized along with full service. Thanks.

  5. Not easy to test these things as you really need to know the temperature during the test but I would measure the resistance when the engine is cold then again at normal running temperature and see if the figures match these At 0 degrees C resistance should be between 4000-7000 Ohms At 80 degrees ( fully warmed engine) between 200-400 Ohms

  7. find a gentle slope , and put the car in neutral and see how the car rolls , should find out if the brakes are binding, also for your previous post you said you were getting 23 to the gallon, my commmute is 7 miles each way and i get about 29 to the gallon so you should be getting more.

  10. What fuel are you using? If you normally fill up at the same garage, is there any possibility that they have had a bad batch? Might be worth trying a couple of tanks of Shell V-Power Nitro+ and seeing if it makes any difference?

  11. Hi Carl I can only answer your last question 4 Yes that is normal, you cant rev the engine, you may have a slight increase in revs if you put your foot to the floor, you will also get a message come up on the small screen in front of you saying that while the car is in natural the hybrid system is not charging and you should put it in park, Not sure if the 2007 model had the valve spring re- call, you could check, other than that I would keep an eye on your oil level. Thanks Chris, I rather thought the gas question was going to be normal as it drives just fine but having never owned hybrid before it's always worth asking. Cheers Carl

  12. Lol.... a bit provocative and a shame to detract slightly from a good thread but okay I'll reply and if discussion is required, perhaps you could start a separate thread for debate on the merits and motives of exhaust modification. In experienced hands the SC can be driven very fast but if your son didn't keep up on the road with a genuine 340 bhp on tap, perhaps he sensibly chose not to. Some might say it's about making a great car better still but each to their own I guess and why not? If I'm listening to music while driving I like the car to be quiet, very quiet.....LS quiet. That really was designed to be quiet. Others say the sound of the V8 without the original silencers is music to their ears. To use Craig's words 'the V8 in all its glory.' Many of the auto engineers I know would agree with that view but it's not for everyone. I for one am looking forward to hearing about Craig's new exhaust system. I'm not an engineer but it interests me and I suspect many others too.
