  1. Glad you're happy. I wouldn't bother with the sat nav, to be honest, a modern system is far more usable. Even if you fitted the latest disc, it would still be way out of date (2003 I think, but not 100% sure). It's a superb motorway muncher, certainly the best I've driven, or been driven in, and pretty economical at the legal limit.

  2. As above, it all depends on your mileage, but as a very rough guide, if you're spending £200 a month on fuel, therefore £2400 a year, then you'll spend about £1200 instead, after conversion to gas. So you'll have covered a £1200 conversion cost, and from then on, you're halving your fuel costs. I say roughly, because that doesn't take in to account the cost of petrol for a couple of miles when starting from cold, or the slightly worse mpg on gas compared to petrol, or servicing costs for the lpg system.

  3. No dout I will be shot down in flames here, But if you own v8 Lexus, you must expect small low miles per gallon. Very good for what they can do for the size of the engine, pushed hard they will guzzle fuel. If one wants good MPG, get something smaller. The average Focus, Mondeo, Vectra, etc won't do much better.. Given the choice, need I say anymore.

  4. What a pile of proverbial.. should pay someone to take it away! Can't quite see what the other car is on display but its doing the car no favours in the same showroom. Wheels are the best part - if you like that style which personally I don't as my Son has them on a Golf Mk2 - which is also a pile of .... imo!

  5. Hi Boxbrownie, I was surprised too as I was hoping for around 30mpg average but it has never shown more than 26 at any point (except immediately after filling up and leaving the petrol station at a crawl then it reported 56mpg - but it soon plummeted when I set off). The other factor is Sheffield is very hilly and it is virtually impossible to stay out of the 'power' area when climbing a hill. Sure coming down a hill charges the battery but it does not compensate for the more gas needed to go up a hill. I will be back from my business trip on Thursday, ODO/trip already reset and will fill up and give an exact MPG for going Sheffield to Newbury return on 90% motorway. I aim to go ~70-75 with ACC on where possible. My old 300 could never do this particular round trip on one tank unless I drive like miss daisy (have to refuel around 10-20 miles before my destination) :)

  6. What the LPG world needs is a system which is used in the home for gas that unless you are registered with a government agencies that legaly oversees the LPG world then the cowboys will continue to thrive. Meanwhile the likes of UKLPG continue to con everyone that unless you have one of their useless bits of paper your wasting your money. Why is it so difficult to govern with good old fashioned common sense. Mike

  7. I agree. The only other problem of course is that it just feels so big. Even after 2.5 years I still have close calls with the near side front - I don't know if it's the way the dash is but it makes the front corners almost impossible to guess at when parking up. Still, it soldiers on. Never misses a beat, total dependability, solid construction. Nothing looks or feels worn at all, and the interior is still fresh and smart.

  11. There is nothing wrong. The radiator fans will always spin if the AC is on, but they aren't spinning anywhere near full speed and has no impact on the engine warming up because the coolant won't be going around the radiator until the water temp is 90+ deg and the thermostat opens. The engine will take longer to heat up if you have the interior heating system on because the temperature is being taken out of the coolant to heat the cabin. If you are near freezing then your economy will fall. When the engine is first started it will run rich, the engine will run more to give you heat for the cabin (turn the climate control off and the system will go into EV much more), the hybrid battery will have less effective capacity because they just don't work as well in the cold, and you have many other things using energy such as lights, fans, demister etc.
