  1. I went out last night with mates. I seen the £2000 with 335,000 miles from Baz on ebay parked up as we was out socialising. It looks really good as it was polished up. Seen the sticker for sale sign on window. I told my mate what he thought and he said looks brill then he nearly had a heart attack when I told him it had 335,000 on it. Haahahahha

  2. Interesting point of view, and a fair point, I'm the exact opposite, I hunted for a car that did have LPG, found one with a quality Prinz system, couldn't be happier with it.LPG is better for your engine that petrol, my stainless exhaust is shiny on the inside, if you look up the rear silencer with a torch! I don't think mine's been clocked- 202K miles!

  3. Pick my car up on the 26th. Probably not the greatest time of the year to try and get the best mpg out of a new car. Will do my best to see what i can do though. Currently getting 50 ish out of a 1.5 diesel grand scenic.

  4. I'm sure worn suspension parts do play a part when it comes to tyre wear. Unfortunately, my LS came to me 3 years ago with el cheapo "made in China" tyres. Problem is, they won't wear out! I've done 35k on them and there's still loads of even tread left. They are noisy and harsh which I've put down to the rubber compound and sidewalls being so hard. Replacements will be with a tyre that's great in the wet as it's incredibly easy at the moment to spin the rear wheels when the road is damp/wet (even with Traction Control on). Probably go with Uniroyal Rain Experts. They have great write-ups for wet grip. Don't know how noisy they'll turn out to be though.

  5. Hello Guys, thanks for your replies. LS400lpg, I have had a quote of just under £200 from a dealer which I think is outrageous for what it is but I may end up having to just pay up, thanks for your offer of local breakers assistance. Mikeyv, no problem. I hope you find your wing and tow bar soon. Steve2006, I think you could be right. Mine got trashed while trying to remove it from the hub. I found one more chap who has one available that I am going to take a punt on but I am not too hopeful that it will work, I will keep you posted. Once again, thanks for your input. Steve.

  6. Drivers who drive too close to the back of my car are a distraction to me and a danger to me and themselves. The aim of my intent is to deliberately and legally frustrate them in order to sharpen their wits. There is no law about having to match the speed limit at all times in order to placate a nit wit.

  9. Anyone got any other ideas? I had the same problem, juddery and stiff when cold last winter then OK during the summer. Now it's frosty the problem has come back. Local garage put some additive in last winter which helped a bit but didn't cure it. Car has always been regularly serviced so I've assumed they've changed the fluid if required - 1999 V Reg with 161,000 0n the clock. I've seen a suggestion to check the reservoir for ice which I'll try and remember to do - car has always lived outside. Could it just be that the belt goes too tight when it's cold? Don't mind struggling when I'm trying to manoeuvre on my drive but it's embarrassing when trying to get out of a roadside parking space after a couple of hours on a cold day!

  12. First thing, don't panic. The refrigerant gas used these days is no long a CFC - those were the gases that remove ozone from the upper atmosphere. I've had issues with main dealers (Volvo, not Lexus) in the past with a leaking air conditioning system. They concluded that because they could hear bubbling noises from the evaporator (which is normal) then there must be leaking going on. No check with ultraviolet. I knew they were wrong, and took it to a specialist, who checked with ultraviolet, and sorted out the real leak very quickly, including vacuuming the system before refilling. There is some lubricant in with the refrigerant. This is absorbed by the O rings in the system, and this keeps the joints tight. That's why, even if you don't use air con in the winter, five minutes use every month is a good thing. Incidentally, using air con in the winter dries out the inside of your car, and keeps it that way. I recommend it. : o ) Good luck.
