  1. You shouldn't need to run that fast, not that you would be able to anyway if you cannot get above 3,000 rpm. A 20 minute run on the motorway should do it, but keep it out of 6th gear so the engine does run at a slightly higher speed.

  2. The DPF may well be a tad coked up. Depends on the driving characteristics of the previous owner.....but the fact that the EGR was clogged may indicate the car only did short runs. A good blast down the m-way will help to burn some off for sure. I think Wynns do a DPF cleaner additive, may be worth a punt. These diesels do need a good blow from time to time to promote the regeneration of the DPF.

  3. Sounds like you have explored the logical steps. You may be right in thinking of the sensors. I had a busted wire on one of my sensors when I had a 220d and it gave similar results to what you are getting. I had no errors or owt, but it ran crap at high revs. Soon as the wire break was traced it was sweet as a nut again. Best of luck with your search.

  8. saynoto0870 is brilliant,..................... usually one can get to a non-premium number. So with the import charges, it seems that we need to factor in about another £22 for charges even when the full postage/carriage and customs duties have already been paid. And this seems to apply to most packages imported then ? Rip-off or wot !!!! Malc

  9. Chanced me arm, but a ls600h isn't classed as a classic, so they wont quote.

  10. I've had my IS250 since last July. In that time I've done 4,600 miles at an average 30.15mpg (calculated from actual petrol used, not from the car's computer). My best tank was 32.43mpg and my worst was 28.01mpg. Most of the mileage has probably been motorway (weekly trip from Hampshire to West Midlands) with the rest around town. I've mostly only used Shell V-Power Nitro+ petrol in it, which has worked out at 20.01p per mile. If you can find a MultiMedia version, the satnav is pretty good (it will dynamically reroute around traffic). You can use MP3 CDs in the Mark Levinson 6-CD changer, which allows somewhere between 80 and 120 songs per CD (depending on size/quality), so you can carry around 600 songs at a time. I also have a small DAB radio plugged into the AUX socket so that I can listen to Radio 6 Music. The 2009MY post-facelift cars have a few nice, if not essential, features over the earlier cars (e.g. ability to autofold mirrors when locking the car).

  11. I am sorry but i disagree with that. Unless the current air filter is clogged up simply changing to K&N filter does not make any difference in acceleration. They make good quality filters however i will pass on their "washable performance oil filters" range and treat their air filters as normal- whent it's time for service the old filter ends up in the bin! It is possible to gain few horsepowers by fiddling with intake, but that involves reprogramming ECU and the difference in the performance will still be barely noticeable. There is no cheap solutions im afraid :)
