Been out again for a 15 mile run, and it's running like a Swiss watch. I'm starting to regain confidence and belief that it really is just very sensitive to voltage drops. I have had the battery tested at an accessory shop = simple voltage check, but I intend to take it to a auto electrical shop for a proper check. I appreciate ll the feedback guys, I get very low when my car doesn't work properly. Still crossing fingers and everything else that the starter is fine.

Hey Guys, So I finally managed to get the car cleaned after my last set of mods. :) I've also added the later LED foglights, although the passenger side unit isn't seated properly! :( Looks like I'll be removing the front bumper again at some point! ;) I've also bought new alloys. :) These are Wedsport SA67R's. They are lighter than the OEM BBS alloys by quite a bit, and it turns out the manufacturer is a subsidiary of Toyota. :) I wasn't going to buy them just yet, but typically they've been discontinued, and I had no choice but to buy the last set in the entire US! Lol. Hoping to get them over with by buddy from Texas in February, but won't be on the car till May or June when I get my bonus from work. I'll be running bigger tires, so my refurbished BBS and Vredstein's will be up for grabs. Then it's H&S exhaust time! ;) I also added the matching black HPS radiator hoses. These are from the same firm as my intake hose. Let me know what you think. Cheers. Peter :)

I'm quiet on modification threads. I prefer to leave things as they are and save my pennies for my next car. But, as a reader of Hot Car and Custom Car in the late 70s / early 80s (Anyone else remember them?) its good to read what other people like to do. So do keep the stuff coming

I have an Autocruise campervan based on a Peugeot Boxer, the handbook states 5 days as the maximum idle time. Any more and it recommends disconnecting the damned battery. Twice now I've gone to start it after a week without running, only to be greeted with a load of messages (none of which is low battery!!) and despite a fairly healthy cranking speed, it fails to start. A quick charge, and all is well. I wonder how the insurance would view the battery being disconnected, with obvious security issues, should it get nicked? Progress eh?

Congratulations on the new car purchase, I'm sure you'll like it. Just a word about Essentials vs. regular servicing - the garage is not suppose to stamp the normal service book after an Essentials service, but instead start a new book. I'm not sure if this would have any impact on any warranty claims if you went for the 24 month warranty. Maybe someone else would know? Personally I paid a bit extra to have a normal service done just to prevent any potential problem with the warranty. Not sure what bits of the service the garage misses on when they do the Essentials service, would be interested to find out if anyone knows.

The design details are astonishing, I had my steering wheel dismantled once and there is a block of metal on a little bracket, just to balance it!

I'm not familiar with the separate fob, so unless someone can come up with a solution it may have to be the main dealer. I don't think I would chance doing anything to modify what you have on such a complex car. I took the glass out of my rear view mirror looking for a connection for a dash cam, I quickly put it all back as it looked like the inside of my computer!

Get a new battery before you pay out for the starter. Sounds to me like battery problems all the time, starter may be OK The battery on my series two LS is a 2008 YUASA, still perfectly OK

I just checked the voltage with the engine running and it was 14.3 volts. Hopefully that means the alternator is OK. It could be a faulty battery cell, I will get it checked
