  1. i've just purchased a 2yr extended lexus warranty for my ct thought lexus have a good deal going at the moment,£495.00 for the warranty including 2 years AA breakdown when the breakdown cover is £125 / yr then the warranty is the same per annum which is the equivilant to 1hr labour with no parts at your dealer

  3. Bob, Don't take this the wrong way........but, if you got an Owner's Manual with the car, you'll find most of the answers in there. :) As far as wireless headphones are concerned, do you mean for you to wear while driving?

  4. It's funny, I was reading his ad recently and in it he states he's had lexus with over 300000 miles on it, and it still drove like a new car, thing i dont understand is he's a trader so how come the lexus's hes sold have never had over 300000 milex on it? Answer, he's clocked them back or he was driving them backwards

  5. Totally agree with Brian on this - as much as I like Lexus dealers compared to other marques, if I can avoid using them I would as their labour rates and mark-ups on some parts is huge to say the least. As per my previous post, if it was me I wouldn't risk putting in a 2nd hand windscreen and I'd pay for a new unit which is then professionally fitted and ensures that you don't get any water leaks

  6. Thanks Jamie that was an interesting write up. It's nice to hear what different manufacturers feel differs them from their competitors as from a consumer's point of view there is quite often little to call between them, particularly amongst premium brands.

  7. I did the same, bigger wheels but it spoiled the ride, so I went back to the way it was designed! Falken tyres seem to get a good review on this forum.

  8. Congrats! Now that I look back on it, it didnt take me any time at all to get used to the hybrid. It just feels the same as a car with a normal engine. Never really noticed the CVT until it roared its head off during an overtake and that was awkward but i rather like it now compared to a traditional box- smooth, refined, relaxed and endless surge of power! You wont need the alloy protection. The tyre profiles are quite large so its not a huge issue, not for me anyway. I kerbed one wheel but thats because it scraped against the kerb doing a full turn in the middle of a main road. Just make sure you park your car about half a foot from the kerb and do a full lock if you need to get onto the pavement

  9. Definitely get the lexus extended warranty. In first 12 months of ownership, I have had new tailgate lights fitted (£500+), rear caliper replaced (£350), air con leak fixed (£920) all under the warranty. Now entering month 13 of ownership, car needs a new water pump (£395) which will hopefully also be sorted under the warranty.

  10. Jay, £350+vat is a bargain for a brand new Lexus screen. Lexus would charge you £800 minimum.

  12. at last i have fixed my luggage blind i managed to cut the blind a while ago but today i bought some material to replace the whole pull out blind. its an easy job to do so dont be afraid about losing the recoil tension its easy to redo. to strip it down you only have to undo 3 screws on the drivers side of the blind,2 hold the spring loaded end cap on and the 3rd one holds the end cap with a star shape in the middle of it,when the cap with the star is remove the tension will go. the blind material is only held on with double sided tape so its easy to remove at the end of the alluminium roller with the star there is a hole i tapped this with an m6 thread about 8mm deep then fitted a allen head bolt once the new blind material has been fixed in place re-fit the roller locating the spigot in the hole put the end cap with the star in it on loosely then using an allen key rotate the bolt clockwise to tension the spring every now and then replace the end cap and check the tension once happy replace all screws jobs done
