  5. They shouldn't give a discount but the cost shouldn't be much at all as all the labour would be for changing the water pump, you should just have to pay for the belt itself.

  6. Call me cynical but £1100 for worn bushes? Bushes are rubber protectors and cost about £20 - do they have to dismantle the car to get to them?! Water pump leaking? Have you noticed that you need to top up the coolant recently? Is it really leaking? Excuse my cynicism but 'Winter Health Check' sounds like 'Christmas Tips for Lexus Mechanics' - make up a few hard-to-check 'problems' and generate some work. If it's a non-Lexus warranty, you may have problems getting that paid out but hopefully all will be ok.

  7. People don't like this being said here but it is essentially the same car with different body panels, interior, extra sound proofing, minor suspension tweaks and has a few more quality checks performed during the build process. It is however much more expensive, comes with an inferior warranty and has servicing costs which are double for exactly the same thing. The drivetrain is the same.

  8. Water pump should be covered under warranty. Bushes are a bit more debatable as that could be considered wear and tear. The water pump doesn't have a replacement interval specified. It should be replaced if and when required. 90,000 miles on a hybrid could be a lot less than 90,000 on a standard petrol engine as the engine may not be running for quite a number of those miles and also not idling when stationary. When my timing belt was replaced at 100k miles the water pump was fine and didn't need replacing.

  11. I would have thought a mis-firing cylinder would have immediately triggered a code, resulting in the engine warning light illuminating. And I think you'd have noticed it immediately, since mis-fires tend to be rather dramatic.
