  1. Hi Rayaan Thankfully not 60 yet - only 57. I know we are going slightly off topic but ...... We do have 5 cars at our house insured with Admiral though so that helps. My partner has a Fiat Panda and Fiat Coupe, my daughter has a Mini and i have the GS (until tomorrow) and a Suzuki Jimny. I bought the Jimny a few years ago as the GS is just so awful in the snow. I use the Jimny in the winter and store the GS and in the summer vice versa. I've already got a buyer for the Jimny so i am keeping my fingers crossed that the NX can hold its own in the white stuff!

  3. In my manual, the info you want is on pages 164, 165, and 166.......under the heading: 2-2 Instrument cluster - Multi-information Display. As Graham says, on the steering wheel there are 2 buttons on the right-hand side - RESET and DISP The DISP button can be used to cycle through various bits of info on the Display which sits between the speedo and the tacho. One of the bits of info is the tyre pressures. All 5 tyres are displayed, but in no particular order. Be aware that, after starting the engine, it might take a few moments for the tyre pressure display to become 'active'. After reading 'War and Peace' you can look forward to reading 'Anna Karenina'......... the Navigation System Owner's Manual'. :)

  4. Hi, I have just experience with the RX, with NX not yet . RX is very good for winter conditions. We are living on a small hill in the city. No problems with snow. By icy weather, the best "way" to stay at home :).

  5. I very much doubt a scanner will help you here m8 ...but it looks like a few people have done the same thing... I found this close solution on here > ... http://www.clublexus...l#ixzz3K1qoTCEN I don't know if you guys ever figured out a solution to this. But I did the same thing and fixed it in just a few minutes. First i went through all the buttons on the dash board to figure out which one was now the "Info" button. On mine it ended up being the "Winshield Defroster" button. I then held down the "Windshield Defroster" button and did the headlight trick to get into the service menu. Once I was there the touch screen was messed up in that it was inverted. If I wanted to press a button in the top left corner of the screen I would have to press the bottom right corner of the screen to access that button. Once I figured out that trick I was able to press the section of the screen that corresponded to the button I wanted to press. So now that I knew how to get into the service menus and where to touch the screen I went in to change the model type back. I accessed the first level of the service menu and then went to the second level. I changed the vehicle type until it said "900N4WD" (you will want to do "900N2WD" if you have the 2WD RX Hybrid) then I pressed set and exited the menu. All the buttons went back to normal and I vowed to never go into that menu again.

  6. the only ODBII tool would be one compatible with, and used in conjunction with, Toyota's TechStream software. You can search on ebay etc. for illegal copies of the software and compatible readers - but you need to know what you are doing, otherwise you end up in the situation you are in now. If a main dealer cannot correct the issue then it doesn't look good, although they probably have never had to do that configuration in TechStream before. The alternative would be to purchase a secondhand nav unit - I'm guessing here because it depends where those settings are stored.

  8. Just thought whilst I was on the forum I would offer what I have found to be a simple fix to the annoying rattling rear parcel shelf/blind. I have been very pleased with my 450H purchase even though the MPG doesn't register much above 32MPG I am spending 25 ponds per week on petrol compared to 40 pounds plus per week with my previous RX 300. The thing that has been bugging me though is the rattling at the rear which I suspected was coming from the parcel shelf. Well upon investigation it seemed to be the clips that secure the flaps to the rear seats. So got hold of some 59P foam self adhesive strips and stuck them to the seat brackets where the clips make contact. Result was no more rattles and a lovely quiet ride. Just to add I have had to floor the accelerator on a couple of occasions, not good for MPG I know, but talk about warp speed mode it is incredible how it hauls the weight truly amazing (to quote the fast show).
