I just popped a short length of semi hard flexi washing line ( or summat like that ) into each of the four holes and that dislodged enough debris to make them flow freely again. Malc

Having done nearly 7000 miles and 19 tank fills since new I think I'm well used to driving the ct as best I can. On average based on pump fills not the onboard computer I am achieving 47.9 mpg. On a tank where the daily drive averaged 12 miles the consumption was 40.9 where the daily average was 90 miles the average was 53.60 and where the daily average was 281 just 44.8. Clearly lots of short journeys or hacking great motorway distances does for the consumption. The rated stats for the premier on 16's is 74.3 and I've only ever got there freewheeling off the Pyrenees! I'd hoped that knowing the manufacturers specs are over egged we might have got to 85% but I'm averaging 64.5% of the manufacturers spec. In all other respects I'm delighted with the car - just feeling a bit short changed on economy - mind you I'm only paying 60% of what I used to in the accord! Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

Well, great news. I had a phone call first thing this morning from the other parties insurance company (Churchill) and they said their policy holder admitted full liability and that they were going to completely repair Lexie, they asked if I had a choice who should do the work and I asked for Lexus and that was OK. They also offered me a rental car or £27 a day while mine is off the road, I have opted for the money as I always have the wifes car to use. As I have had a rotten night of spinal soreness they will be offering me a sum of money for personal injury subject to doctors report and before anyone shouts that’s why we have such high insurance premiums, I have only recently just got over a slipped disc I also have a problem with the discs in my neck as I have walked crooked for most of my life and the discs in the neck have worn away so when they get shaken up then it becomes sore and painful. All that said I am happy with the outcome, so should it happen to you bare in mind that you don’t have to accept your car being written off just be polite and calm and you will get your car repaired even if its way past what the car is valued at. I started with a Mark 3 then the Mark 4 and now and LS430 and ive got to say i think the Mark 3 has the best looking body! - the curves are so nice! and the alloys really go well together - it just look as if the car is gliding along when i see one go past.
