  1. when it comes to overtaking ability i think we could all attest it boils down to the car in front which one is trying to over take and at which speed and gear the overtaking is about to take place.. although say a 911 Carera S sits lower and lighter than an IS-F, the 911 will not accelerate any faster in an overtaking manoeuvre if it happens between 50 to 75mph as they both achive it in 2.4 - 2.8 seconds in fact the IS-F has been tested to achieve 4.5 seconds from 50-70mph in 5th gear compared to the Carrera S's 5.9 secs in 5th when trying an overtake manoeuvre. even a 335d BMW is quicker(4.7 secs) in 5th gear between 50-70mph compared to say a Carrera S overtaking at the same speeds in 5th. so will all depend on the car in front one is trying to overtake.. but the Porshe looks to fit the bill perfectly in terms of what you kinda looking for ..

  3. Yes it is normal, especially when you have the climate control set to a higher temp. than it is inside the cabin as it runs the petrol engine to generate the heat required. Even with the climate control off the engine will normally come on when cold to get it up to a certain temperature, even if the hybrid battery is fully charged. Once the petrol engine has started it will go through a warm up cycle for a few minutes before turning off.

  4. It is clear. I had it checked out before I even travelled to view. There is also a Lexus stamp in the book as well as two others (one main dealer and one indie). Everyone will take this view and that's why it will sell for little money to a chancer. With a car like this people want to know it has been well cared for. Even if he had done the services himself why not keep the receipts? Makes you instantly think there is something being hidden. The isf is an enthusiasts car so why not come on the forum and defend the car??? Can't answer this one Stu - this was the first place I came when I was interested in buying so would have thought the same but not everyone thinks that way. Gavan

  6. Hello i don't see why not i've got an rx 400h myself and i've just started it up as normal so it says :ready , on the display and just set the blowers on for a little while. i can't see any problem there like most cars. I wouldn't go leaving it unattended with the keys in. Enjoy

  7. Does seem the only real option. Practical enough for weekends, sporty drive and an experience to drive, luxurious enough and iconic as well. 997 s looks like the winner as it stands but will see what happens in 2 years.

  11. Yeh i most guys in the US have even recorded quicker lap times in an IS350 comapred to an M3 of around the same year.. driver input has a lot to do with this but i recon the IS350 is not far off in terms of real life performance compared to the IS-F..

  12. What you want is Soft99 Fusso dark. Beats pretty much every wax out there and its Japanese ;) Just bought some from ebay..shame it's from Hong Kong though as it will take some time to get here. Yep nipponshine sell it but its out of stock currently. Its very good. Lasts an age too! 6 months + with tight beading up until 6 months where it flags slightly. You will not be disappointed

  15. I believe that's correct. I didn't realise until yesterday that there was a separate touch screen button to make the air vents move from side to side to distribute the air, or that there were even courtesy lights on the inside of the door handles.

  17. Toyota transmissions aren't sealed for life. They expect the fluid to last and therefore doesn't have a scheduled replacement interval however it should be inspected at every major service and replaced if necessary, long before it gets to a brown gunky state.

  20. hi when you select hi you should (with music off) be able to hear a faint hum of the compressor running and the car rises - the difference can be seen clearly - and should return to normal afterwards. mines a 04 with 118k
