  1. Lol. Bet your smoking 40 a day now i would be. Whats the diff between 460-600 is yours the 2seats in back? Are they all like that? My wife said i can have a 600 when her dad pops his clogs. Oh well dont think ill have to wait that long. Only joking he's a good man but if its him or a 600 its a nice car to remember him by.please nobody read into this the wrong way its a bit of banter.

  2. So, I rarely travel anywhere without a camera and I've taken thousands of photos of older/classic cars over the years. I keep a particular eye out for anything Japanese, here are the LS400s I've seen and maybe you know of? 1990 Lexus LS400 (2011) by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Shame, this was back in 2011. 1992 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr One of my favourite views of the LS400. 1992 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Nice colour, interesting use of Supra wheels. 1992 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Is this a Mk1 or 2? 1993 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr 1995 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr 1996 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr There's something about the headlights on the Mk3 that I don't like as much as the earlier models. 1997 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr 1998 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr 1998 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr 2000 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr 2000 Lexus LS400 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Seems like I only see green Mk4s! The last one was particularly interesting, it did a few laps at a trackday I was on in my Camry, with a custom exhaust it sounded lovely.

  4. I used a mobile alloy wheel refurbisher who charged me £50 per wheel to refurbish mine - not cheap for a full set of wheels but the results are worth it and in my opinion, these cars are so much better when they are kept as original as possible. If it was me, I'd pay the money and get them refurbished. Just my opinion though. I've seen a lot of LS cars over the years with alternative wheels and I don't think they look good because of the change.

  6. Have you not got your original 16" alloys on your LS400 ? Unfortunately, I sold my set on eBay as I had sold my LS400 last year - I have replaced it with an LS430 recently There are plenty of 16" alloys for sale on eBay - not sure if you'll find any original LS wheels though. I did have a set of the 17" DHP 7 hole alloys and the ride was still very comfortable. If you can find a set of those, they are definitely worth considering in my opinion

  7. I've still the same silly grin on my face from the day I picked it up... Used to go out the back of my house for a smoke but now always go out the front so I can admire the car more often, , I did like my GS but from about week 1 of ownership started regretting not sticking to my guns and going for a LS460.... silly reasons really main one being when I drove around ppl used to look back at my car as I past them in the LS400 but with Gs no one did.... Lol call me vain but I like ppl looking at my car in awwwwww, but hardly anyone did with the GS... Now with the LS600 ppl come up to me and compliment me on car and ask about it, even my boss is jealous and he's got a 14 plate LS460 Putting that all aside the GS was a nice drive and to be honest can't complain about it very similar performance to the LS (remembering it was a GS450h) comfort wise I found myself having to move about on seat after awhile (numb bum effect) which I never got on my LS400 (which I still have) Only complaint ive got about the LS600 is......... Errrrrrr .....I haven't got anything to complain about ...no really I have one complaint when drop down dvd screen is activated in the back I can't see out of back window from rear view mirror.... Was going to get dvd headrests and deactivate the drop down but because of the way the front passenger seat headrest moves and folds away when the rear relaxation seat is activated I cant..... But no big issue I have 2 wing mirrors to see behind me..... Either that or I stop the kids watching DVDs in the back (not worth the hassle of 2 screaming crying arguing kids lol) I must add lexus's up my way are like hens teeth.... A few IS's and a hand full of RXs and 1 LS (mine) the was a 07 GS once lol but was passing thru the area never ever saw it again

  9. The amplifier on the 430 is a different mechanical set up to the 400 as they are initially different manufacturers and the seperate amp unit on the 400 as been a feature since the cars launch. The Manufacturers Pioneer and Nakamichi supplied the audio systems for the 400 range. Lexus switched to Mark Levinson on the 430. One of the nice features on the 400 range is the tape player and I like it because when I trawl through the Goodwill stores in the USA you pick up tapes for ten cents each.I was lucky enough to get a proffesionally engineered collection of all the Rolling Stones recordings going back to their inception for 70 cents + 6% sales tax last Feb and it sounds fabulous on the 400 system. I was also able to put the collection on my mp3 player through the tape conversion device you can get on ebay for less than £15.The device also plays tapes through the Aux jack on my Bose sound system so don't throw those tapes away, you can still play them.

  10. Steve, how did you find them as they are my nearest dealers? Bet they don't see many IS-Fs! Very good. Had no problems with at all. Well, I am on my 8th Lexus with them! Gino in the service dept is the one to speak to regarding servicing. ISF is very rare around here. I've never seen another one on the road.
