  1. I seldom take my car beyond 4,000rpm so I thought as the car was tried and tested on a track, why not take it to one. I have just returned from the Bedford Autodrome GT circuit and what a car this is! Most of you know this already, but taking it up to the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and way the speed and the sound increases is something else. I had some tuition and the instructor was iching to have a go. Also he said the usual thing in that he did not know Lexus made a car like this. Anyway, it rained all days and therefore, I had to take it easy, plus I am a novice. I bottled it at 125mph down the straight, as I thought it might aquaplane. However, a M3 past me, which must have been doing 140mph! If you get a good exist and are confident on the brakes, in the dry if think 150mph is possible. It is not all about top speed for me. It is about how this car can be a daily driver and when need be do a good job on track. The brakes held up well and actually feel better now in normal driving. The engine is smoother too. The rear tyres are fine, but the osf looks like it may have lost a couple of mill. In all it was a very fun day, met some nice people, there were Evo's, GT3's, lots of different cars there. I ran off the track about 4 times, no spins though. I know some here prefer not to take their ISF track, but I think my one feels better for it. Cheers

  2. Agreed, I love the rarity factor and the way it's so docile at low revs in auto mode yet transforms into a beast in M mode above 3600ish rpm. By the way, I recommend Werkstat's acrylic sealant range if you want to achieve a glossy/wet black finish. I don't have time for 'detailing' as such, but it makes the weekly wash easier in the long run with the right protective wax or sealant.

  4. There are some codes on my car that torque and ELM327 pair don't provide. They are only obtainable by using toyota vci cable and toyota techstream software. Toyota compatible vci cable can be bought from ebay and amazon and usually comes with techstream software. I used these to read back airbag code and also for Aircon codes

  7. Just received a tube of the grease that Lexus use to lubricate the slide pins - its not actually known as Lithium Soap Grease but Rubber Grease - Part number 08887-83010 - from Lexus Birmingham for £10 per tube. Tube is the size of a tooth paste one so it will last a good 4 to 5 years if greasing all 4 corners of the car. A good buy. It states its good for 1 year after the production date .... is this the case?
