  1. Some friends of mine own an older S320 and having arranged to meet at a local pub I was intrigued as to why he kept popping out of the pub at regular intervals. "The car won't lock" was the response when asked "It's going into Mercedes tomorrow" £1300.00 later it was repaired, apparently the doors are soft close all controlled by various ECUs,pumps and pipework. One of my LS400 door locks failed, cost £10.00 for a secondhand lock which I fitted myself. Mmmmmmm :)

  3. Think you'll be OK with these. A guy in the 250 club put a set in...worked fine. On that basis you should be OK. Take a read here from post 18 onwards http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/76271-illuminated-scuff-plate/page-2#entry872074

  4. That's a question I've been meaning to ask for some time. When I was in Eurocarparts recently they were plugging a product that was "guaranteed" to work and was endorsed by some of the major motoring names. The guy that I bought my first LS from 7 years ago said he always put Redex in when he filled up. Interesting to hear what others say.

  7. You can also now check the MOT Advisories with the DVLA. It's probably still a free service and might help you Malc

  8. I'd be somewhat worried if I had any faith in the portal. Try using your VIN on the following site to see if it is somewhat valid. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/q.html In 1997 the service intervals were 9,000 miles, I believe timing belt is at 63,000 miles rather than at 90,000.

  9. Most probably a sticking caliper. Surprisingly, sometimes some really hard braking can actually help get rid of the judder. I tried this on my mk4 and there was a definite improvement in brake feel after a few high speed 'emergency stops'.
