  1. Just a thought - Try starting the car with the Silca key when you have the original key close to the ignition. See if it starts. Then try this again with the original key left in the house. If it starts at the first time and not when the original key is not present, you can be 100% sure it hasn't got a transponder chip. Not sure if this will work, but worth a try :)

  4. If it was mine . and at £1400 it should be if i was looking for one now ....... I would not worry about the lower ball joints, they are NOT expensive to sort out ( unlike the upper wishbones which you say are ok ) and I would not bother with the cambelt at only sub 100k miles having beeen rerplaced at 63k miles.( albeit some time ago now ) you will probably get many years from the cambelt if truth be known, otherwise it's going to cost you at least £500 to do that alone. i would be more concerned with the tyres quite honestly ( £100 a corner ) and having a simple oil change, filters and fluid checks service. If it drives and sounds ok to you, and your happy with the bodywork etc. At £1400 it sounds a bit of a gift to me. Malc

  5. I took the plunge in back in December and ordered my new company car. An IS 300h F-Sport in white. After what seemed like forever i took delivery in March and i love it. Unfortunately so does my wife.... So much so that on Friday we part exchanged her VW EOS and in 15 days time we'll be collecting her new CT 200h f-sport, white, premium nav, sunroof. Does that mean we now have Alexus's are is it Lexi? :-)

  6. Hi there! I just replaced mine with torsen diff from sport model. It is direct bolt on. Compared to open diff, LSD has better traction and better handling. Definitely, a very good upgrade. Just note, if you have an automatic transmission, than you need to replace crown & pinion to keep the same gear ratio.
