  1. I've seen a flat battery cause those sort of errors before but I wouldn't take a chance. Looking at the advert I don't like the way a trader is suggesting this is MY lovely IS250.

  4. Hi, Thank you, the garage I take it to have done a great job and I am very pleased. the Eibach's will bring the front down nicely and the 15mm fill the arches with no issues at all. I went for 20mm at the rear but if i hadn't had the coilovers fitted would have gone for 30mm. 20mm looks nice at the rear but still doesnt quite fill the arches and you may be disappointed at the drop at the back from the springs, it does still leave quite a gap and gives the nose down look that some like, but wasnt what i was looking for, hence the coilovers. good luck

  5. Just a quick post to inform you that the PANORAMIC ROOF is now an OPTION on all models apart from SE! This was due to popular demand, mainly me pestering them every day about it lol. Now just HUD, 360 degree camera, ventilated seats and ML to go!

  7. Garage recharged the car again this morning and put 850g of gas into the system. The temp at the vents is now showing 9c which although not perfect is a big improvement, he checked the pollen filter and it was pretty filthy so he air blasted it and ordered a new one which I will get fitted tomorrow he is also going to clean the vaporiser and will set up a temporary fan to blow over the condenser just to see what difference that makes. The garage have been great and only to keen to help get things right for me.

  8. Instant MoT failure! Could be something simple like a wheel sensor (but even they aren't that simple on a Lexus) - or it could be something very expensive!

  9. The ABS unavailable light is on as well. As ABS and VSC are the same system, the VSC message will usually come up if the ABS light is on. There is clearly a fault with the ABS system on this car. It would need the codes read and interpreted by someone with ABS repair experience.

  10. When driving in daylight the only lights 'on' on my dash are D on the auto box display and the P of the parking sensors (this can be manually turned off). Why anyone would put up pics with Check VSC on view is a bit puzzling. If its a 'nothing serious' problem, sort it, and put up pics with clear dash. Personally, I'd be suspicious this is someone who either knows nowt about the car (and probably never cared for it that well) or just wants shot. I'd be looking elsewhere already. The Check VSC can be a any of a multitude of issues...you'd need the error code read to know what it is. Preferably, you want Full Lexus Service History and all accompanying documentation.

  12. Jonathan the hub caps are wrong on that Mark 4 that is worrying in respect of wheel origin for a low mileage car As it been cobbled together after an accident or is it a theft recovery. If I am wrong and I hope I am it is in good nick but pricey.

  13. If that was the case, would there be other tell tale signs elsewhere? Look at the bolts used on the door hinges. The factory ones have self centring tapered heads which don't allow adjustment, these would be replaced with standard bolts and larger washers which allow adjustment. Compare to the other side. Look at the paint around the hinge area and inside the wing. Also check the alignment of the wing / bonnet and at the front by the headlight. Look in the engine bay for any signs of repair work / creasing to the engine bay skin or damage at the front around the back of the headlight. Accidents happen, just because it has a new wing or door doesn't mean it shouldn't be a buy, you just want to make sure of a good repair with quality parts and a good paint finish etc. Make sure all the electrics on the door work, check the central locking several times in succession. If you are serious then an HPI check should tell you if it has been an insurance write off.

  14. £449!!?! What kind of price is that? I paid £225 for my first RX450h service. Then I got a 3 year PLATINUM service plan costing £999 including the chauffeur car, 10% off parts and labour, a few golf titbits and a full free valet and hybrid health check every year. Rayaans! A chauffeur car, what's that all about then? Never had that service plan offered to me, and golf titbits too, it gets worse lol Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC Im with the RRG group platinum service plan. Basically, 3 years servicing. Mine are 20,30 and 40k services as I paid for the first one. It includes 10% off accessories, parts and labour, collection and delivery or a courtesy car for the full duration (about 3 days), a full valet by Autosmart franchised valeters, not the Lexus washers lol, free summer and winter checks with full reports, a full hybrid health check with all services, i got automatically joined to a golf club where I can go once a year for free and I can borrow a chauffeur car with the chauffeur free of charge for one special occasion every year. Its basically a choice between the LS600h or the LS460 F Sport.

  16. Hello and welcome to the LOC. Lexus will charge you around £65.00 for the antirattle shims and £45.00 for the fitting kit Ouch! Many members have purchased brake parts from the company below, the website is apparently being updated at present for the parts you need but you could phone them to see if they have the parts required, they will certainly cheaper than dealer prices. http://www.biggred.co.uk/onlinestore.php

As for mpg not sure but definatly will increase bhp.

  18. Could anyone tell me whether they have been able to satisfactorily mask their headlights to meet the requirements of driving in France, or have they needed to get the beam adjusted by the dealership?

  20. I'm off to France (don't mention the football) in 2 days in my new RX300SE, can't wait to finally get to have a long drive in it. I've purchased a set of generic beam deflectors from Halfords which say they are compatible with the RX from 2000 onwards, does anyone know if Lexus changed the lamps in the new model? Also, does anyone know whether I need to carry spare bulbs in France? Cheers
