  1. You will notice a difference in the GS to a LS... I was always going to get myself a ls460 a couple of years ago A UPGRADE FROM MY LS400 and at last minute changed my mind and went for a minted GS450h ..... Nothing wrong with it comfort was 95% like a LS , speed n acceleration and drive was about the same but what kept going thru my head was this isn't as LS ... So 2yrs later had to return to LS fold ....was happy with the GS but am much much happier in the LS .... Ok so I went straight for the 600 this time but it's a LS and happier than a herd of pigs in (their own muck) lol

  2. Had a call today to remind me that I am booked in for the first year service tomorrow. They asked if I would like to order a newspaper to read while I wait, thought of asking for tins of lager but thought better of it. Good job I do not have a BMW as I would be made to read a newspaper full of the German football team, no need to rub it in.

  7. Finally got it to Kwikfit. They did a recharge but it didn't work. As soon as temp is set 20 or below a screech starts and there is a voltage drop. Is this a major fix? And is it expensive??? If if is, bearing in mind its my wife's car , I may just suggest she open the windows (and run)

  8. While still thinking about DAB for the LS, I noticed on friday on way home from work that FM reception was worse than it had ever been. So saturday I got the boot open and investigated the ariel On removing the co-ax plug at bottom of ariel mounting, it looked a bit 'greasy'. So got out my cotton buds, some isopropyl alchohol and gave it a good clean. Actually quite shocked at the amount of rusty coloured gunk that came out. Cleaned both the end stump of the ariel mount, and the female socket, dried the off and then sprayed with electrical contact cleaner. The end result, on the drive into work morning the FM signal was fine (I travel across a boundary between the Oxford and Wenvoe transmitter handover), which tells me the gunk was the problem. I would guess the boot gets to much climatic change that condensation is a problem, and with the LS400 leaky boot syndrome the ariel absorbed more than usual moisture. A 10 minute job well worth doing if your FM reception is naff. Also noticed improved MW and LW reception (not that these are used)

  9. 3) The way I understand LPG is that, with today's gas prices, you are unlikely to recover the installation costs for a considerable time, ie many many thousands of miles (personally, I would like to spend less on petrol, however, I'm yet to be convinced about LPG...). The trick is to buy one already converted!
