I still have the 430 and boy what a difference this dark side is one hell of a machine totally chalk and cheese. Lucky I can have both. BMW 730d amazing. I suppose i got a bit fed up of being driven around even though you actually drive a Lexus LS you still feel chauffeured, you have to be on top of this cat.

Update: Picture attached of non-OEM display install. Managed to get a quote for cambelt/tensioner/water pump at a specialist for £440 (genuine parts), so have booked the car in for this. Have asked for the removed parts for inspection so will post condition when I get this done.

Ouch! That's one reason I'm not pony chasing with this car. If I get xfr it'll be a map and exhaust and it will be running 560BHP plus and quick as poop. Pretty much leave N/A cars alone due to cost per pony. Be great to follow your progress matey. Stu

Cam belt and WP change on my Mk1 (essentially the same engine) cost £350 at a very well known local Lexus specialist. I suggest you put a search in for a specialist near your location, I tend to trust specialists more than main dealers as I find they are usually enthusiasts of the make rather than just paid spanner monkeys.

Lets get this straight. A forum member has an accident that they are not to blame for, the culprit even drove off without any information exchange, the driver suffer's injury and rightly get's medical treatment, then looks to put in a claim to get the car repaired to it's former glory and compensation for the whole incident. Since then, it has changed to a personal dig at the driver and the disabled, claims of false whiplash, benefit scrounging, slanging matches between members. Come on people, we are supposed to be a discerning group of people that own a slice of luxury motoring. I fear we are starting to see people's TRUE COLOURS coming out, what's next i wonder. If you have an issue with the original poster then PM them, please don't reduce this forum to the crap that is acceptable on lesser forums. Please think before you post, both as the post starter and any replies. Personally i think the claim amounts are a bit high, you will be hard pushed to get close, but good luck getting your car sorted, and good luck on getting your injury healed.

Rayaan, I said a "good independent" not a backstreet garage, but hey, its your money; if you want to throw it away then that's your choice. But if you think main dealers do a better job just 'cause you're paying more, then you're kidding yourself.
