  1. Lets get this straight. A forum member has an accident that they are not to blame for, the culprit even drove off without any information exchange, the driver suffer's injury and rightly get's medical treatment, then looks to put in a claim to get the car repaired to it's former glory and compensation for the whole incident. Since then, it has changed to a personal dig at the driver and the disabled, claims of false whiplash, benefit scrounging, slanging matches between members. Come on people, we are supposed to be a discerning group of people that own a slice of luxury motoring. I fear we are starting to see people's TRUE COLOURS coming out, what's next i wonder. If you have an issue with the original poster then PM them, please don't reduce this forum to the crap that is acceptable on lesser forums. Please think before you post, both as the post starter and any replies. Personally i think the claim amounts are a bit high, you will be hard pushed to get close, but good luck getting your car sorted, and good luck on getting your injury healed.

  2. I would just like to wish Tees ls430 the best of luck in a speedy resolution to returning his life to the way it was before he was the unfortunate victim of yet more careless motoring on our roads -" there but for the grace of God"as they say. And just as a side while there are no doubt some outrageous lead swingers who attempt to deceive insurance companies and cost us all more money, not every "whiplash" claim is a inflated con. In my professional capacity as a power development coach I have spent the last two years working with a sportswoman of national champion standing who suffered "whiplash" related injuries after being rear ended by a van, sadly she was not lucky enough to have been driving a lexus. Her injuries and continuing problems are beyond belief and I have never seen anyone suffering such lasting problems even including my days as an international full contact fighter and coach. I would wish you all a safe time behind the wheel and at least we have a fighting chance in our "luxury tanks"

  3. Well this one caught my eye, it's enough to make me want to own this particular BMW, as it looks like a decent runner!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-X5-2006-Special-Editions-4-6iS-Carbon-Black-Edition-5dr-Auto-4x4-/321423779751?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4ad659a7a7

  4. Hi Suman, just a word of support. I'd just like you to know that I've read your comments on here for several years, and watched your postings on youtube. I've always enjoyed reading them because you've been so open about your life, and have recorded both the good bits and the bad. I hope your experiences with some of the comments that you've had recently, that seem to come either from simple folk who don't think things through before they type, or from those from Scandanavian mythology, will not put you off continuing to record your life on here down through the years. Though it's obviously part of the wild internet, the people who are attracted to post on this site do seem to be particularly decent and likeable, the sort you could have a chat with in a pub, and mild skirmishes are no more than that. However, as in life, unpleasant solids sometimes float through, but if left alone they generally tend to just disappear! Failing that, just complain to the site moderators! All the best. : o )

  5. The engine ECU is located on the other side of the panel directly below the glovebox. The 1st step as always when working on the car is to remove the negative battery terminal to remove the risk of anything being shorted out during the process. Step 1. Open the glove box lid and prise out the 2 plastic covers over the support arms by pushing in an outward direction. Once these are removed the support arms simply pull off the bracket on the glove box. The glove box compartment is hld in position by 5 plastic stud fixings, 3 along the bottom and 2 along the top. Using a suitable tool prise these out and then using a plastic blade depress the top edge of the compartment then pull it forward slightly. Remove the glove box light wiring by pushing the lug on the connector and then carefully pull out the right side of the glove box further and ensure the stay arms are pushed back through the slots. The right side stay arm is attached to the glovebox with a nylon connecting cord and damper mechanism so take care not to break this on removal. Once the inner compartment is removed you can now access and remove the 2 10mm bolts holding the panel at the top either side of the glove box door. From here remove the lower passenger side kick panel containing the foot well light, to remove the light socket twist the bulb holder. This will then allow access and removal to a further 3 10mm bolts at the bottom of the panel, one at each end and one in the middle. Carefully lower the panel down to the floor of the car to reveal the ECU as shown in the picture below, the loom will allow this without straining. Reverse the above proceedure to refit everything.

  6. I personally wouldn't put any type of radiator sealant in the coolant system. Euro car Parts have the IS200 radiator on offer at just £82.00 instead of £132.00 at the moment based on a 2001 IS200. Grap some red longlife coolant at the same time. http://www.eurocarparts.com/car-radiator

  7. Very similar styling between LS 400 Mk1 and the Merc W126. I think the Merc looks okay, but it's lines are not quite as clean as the LS, and that front grill always strikes me as rather USA focused, with that 'Look how butch I am feel'.. Once went out in a W126 and impressed by the room in it, never got to drive it though, but it looks like a real boat of a car - once again a bit like USA motors which have enormous body shells (though US cars of that period did a great job of not having decent useable space considering their size).
