  3. Just maybe, we do see the world as it is, which is why we see it as we are, it's not always a pleasant place. Humility is a hard thing, but it ends conflicts. An unconditional apology from both parties (even if it's undeserved) puts an end to it, otherwise it festers, and eventually goes bad.

  4. Thanks to Steve (Steve2006) and Robert (Robert Dubreaux) who advised against jump starting the car. Thanks to Brian (Tulpen) and Jose (PEPE) for link 'Help Please! My Mk4 Thinks I'm A Car Thief' good sense and attempts at peace making. Thanks to Mike (Bluesman) Ian (IHgs300) and janey for attempts at peacemaking Thanks to cleverdick for his good sense and intentions Thanks to Mark (lexusdaduk) for information on the keyless start buttons Thanks to Phil (The Acre) Rudy (Ruud) and Colin (Colin M) for their opinion It was never my intention to annoy anyone. When Ambermarine complained about my “Help I am thinking about buying this” thread claiming it was not Lexus related, When in fact it was. I owned two Lexus one an Ls 430 and one Ls 400 which I sold to a forum member. I apologized in general hoping to maintain harmony This in spite of not doing anything wrong, the thread was of interest to members as is evidenced by the number of replies. I posted Dead as a Dodo in good faith. Steve answered in good faith. Ambermarine was insulting. Also he was wrong, the information I later received from Brian, Jose, and Mark was very helpful. I have no control over what others perceive as truth, I do know, I had, have. no ill feeling towards anyone on this forum, and that includes Ambermarine. To close this post, I want to say, today I fitted a new battery and following advice from here, turned on Ignition for six minutes then off and started car as normal. Everything works as it should except the keyless start. Which I will return to later. I leave you with this. We do not see the world as it is. We see the world as We are. William

  5. With modern cars I would be wary of jump starting, sparks and electrical spikes can upset the sensitive electronics in any car. I would either disconnect the battery leads and trickle charge the battery in situ or remove it and charge off the car. The alarm should automatically reset once the battery is reconnected and the key fob is recognised.

  6. Hello Enthusiasts I would just like to share the latest purchase for my IS250 with everyone. I purchased a Freepower SP11 Throttle controller last week and went through a week of testing this new product to what gains it would add to my car knowing the limitation of Performance modifications to the Lexus . Controller features - The throttle controller its self comes with 4 different modes Normal (Lexus Standard settings), ECO, and Sports and a accelerator lock mode. Within eco mode there are 7 settings Starting from 1 which is the least economical to 7 which is the highest Eco range. Normal - This mode is the standard Lexus Accelerator settings. Sports mode - Which has 11 settings. Setting 1 being the least responsive to setting 11 which is most. Accelerator lock Mode - This mode cuts all accelerator activity and the pedal becomes inactive so that in the event of your being stolen the car thief will not be able to drive of as the pedal will be locked. I will first start of with installation of the controller - This was simple to fit as it is plug and and comes with the correct wiring loom my car. So all it needs is one side of the loom plugged underneath the accelerator pedal and the other side into into the ODB2 port. Then the loom is then plugged into the Freepower controller and that's about it for installation. Setup of the Device - Set-up of the device was simple and a clear concise instruction manual was provided which explained how to the up the controller. Installation and set-up took around 30 mins and the bulk of that time was based around installation of the device. Mode Testing - Testing was simple really as the aim of purchasing the controller was to maximize throttle response and to engage quicker acceleration. When using the device in SP11 mode which is the highest i must say that the improvement is like for example - 1 minute not having a supercharger on your car to having one on your car in terms of the difference it makes. The response is instant and very aggressive and makes allot a different on the 0-60 pickup. I personally could not believe the improvement from this device and how it changed the acceleration of the car from being sluggish to being twitching and aggressive. The best part about the sport mode from my perspective is that you can choose from the 11 banding how responsive you want your accelerator pedal to be. So if SP11 mode is to aggressive for normal road drive your can decrease the SP level to a lower setting IE Sport mode 10,9,8,7. ETC what are you find best for the way you are drive at that moment. It is simple to select the correct mode as its just a push of a button. Its like having a Map on your car but the best part about it is that you can fine tweak the controller the way you want the Map to work with out having to send it back in to be remapped. Overall - I would say that for the amount of money you pay for the device it gives you allot of bag for your buck and i would highly recommend this modification all the IS owners to looking into purchasing one of these as you will see a massive difference to your car and there is currently nothing on the market that has the features that this controller has . If you need more information please feel free to mail me as I can speak with the supplier for further information required.
