  2. The meet today went very well. I could not believe the LS400 out numbered all other models. Seeing the ISF (if that what its called) in the flesh, what a beautiful car. One day I hope to own one. It was good to meet other people one speaks to on here face to face. Great day all round.

  5. Yes a really good meet all down to Ian,the 1st one I've been to with LS400s outnumbering all other Lexus models ( where were the IS200 guys?) Didn't realise until I got home I forgot to remove the Japanese number plates, wondered why I kept getting strange looks on the M1.

  6. What a great meet. So many LS's. Always great seeing real faces and chatting over all manner of subjects. Two lovely SC's turned up one a full blown racing car and the other your more normal Lexus with a 4.3 engine which sounded great when it started up, if it wasn't for the fact that once I had got into it I would probably have to stay there I would have one myself. Well done to Ian and his wife for organising it all. Here's to the next one. Mike

  8. Bit of a delay i know, but really enjoyed it. Nice to see the regulars and the new folks to, good mix of people who above all were very friendly and talkative about all things lexus and more. Nice to get into the other cars to see how the feel and look and hear the burble of the ISF. Wifey was annoyed she missed the ISF and the SC to get up close and personal too (our doggy of 14yrs was in a bad way so she stayed home, we decided to have her put to rest this morning), she has wanted to see them both up close especially the SC convertable, she said it's either that or a bmw z4 soft top, i made her wash her mouth out for a full half hour as punishment. Thanks for the duck eggs Ian n Heather, they very nice as a egg n bacon butty, feel them arteries hardening. Looking forward to the next one, hopefully the camping event in august will be a good meet to if we can get it to go ahead as a group. I'm in anyway, baring wifey work comittments she should be there too. Well i'm off to raise a glass of beer to my faithful friend of 14yrs (and maybe shed the odd tear too)

  9. Interestingly dealer has now dropped the price of the car by £500. Should have offered a better part-ex shouldn't he? Idiot.

  10. As you can see from the graph illustration below the solar panel produced excellent results although eficiency was down some 20.8% due to the ambient OAT being at less than 20 degrees Celcius and a 10 knot wind approacing from a south westerly direction. Precipitation during the test although measured was not taken into account on this occasion. I have therefore concluded ....... it works !!! :)

  14. These posts make me laugh. if its so expensive to run, why do you own one?. I don't know yet as I have just bought 1. hopefully I would expect 25 mpg on a 6 cyl motor with lots of luxury to boot, my Toyota pick up 2.4 diesel returns 20/25 mpg all day, loaded or not & don't have any luxurys at all. As far as ive found out so far is mpg is the least of my concerns, ive owned a lexus for 4 days now, & now I have an engine warning light on! what is this I say? £££ car still drives as norm but who needs this **** goin on! After all the car in front is a Toyota... Yeah a pick up truck that works its **** ***** off to pay for the lights comin on on the bloody lexus!!!!

  15. That's interesting Paul, as far as I can tell I have no problems with any of the ball jounts and drop links. I put my old tatty MOT testers hat on the other day and spent nearly 2 hours inspecting, levering etc all the components only to find all is good. The only thing I couldn't test was the shock absorbers. I have got the tools to remove them and the springs, which I may do at some point to see if there's any play in the shafts. You're right Ashar- cheap tyres don't help. Shame they had already been fitted before I bought the car.

  16. I had the noise as most people have, I recently put new coilovers drop links top and bottom ball joints and tie rod ends on the car and the noise has stopped so on mine it was defo one of the above if I had to bet id say it was the shocks making the majority of the sounds

  17. I've got a slight 'suspension' noise. I had some tyres on before that were due to be changed so I had 4 new tyres that have the Uniroyal tyre pattern when I had my alloys refurbed. I'm not convinced it is the tyres that cause this noise. My friend, who is a Lexus technician, reckons it's the shock absorber so I think I'll try that now.
