  1. Anyone have a car with Lexus Cumnor Hill,Oxford number plates, tax disc or number plates still on their cars please? Can somebody take a picture for me and post it up as I am after the original number plates, tax dic and rear screen sticker for the car. Any help would be great. I have spoken to Lexus in Oxford, they have moved to another location withiN the area,so they cannot help me. I've got somebody that will reproduce a set if I have the details I require. Thanks.Lee.

  2. I will try and upload a photo of my y-piece after it was welded If it is done right get it welded but if not then someone will quite easily make a pigs ear of it. Whoever repairs it for you get them to do it in situ because if you try and undo the bolts and lambdas you run the risk of it all snapping and then you willl need new gaskets and the chances are it will probably blow there then when it is put back together

  3. Chris, with your budget I would be aiming for a 400 rather than 430, and Mk 4 is the best one to go for, but you can also pick up good Mk2 and Mk3 models where the owner has done work to get them up to scratch. Suspension is usually the area to look at, as being a heavy car it does put a strain over 10 to 12 years on all the mechanical parts (especially given stat of UK roads). However I would rather have the ride of an old LS 400 over an old Merc or BMW, as though parts on Lexus are not cheap, they generally are no where near as bad as the German motor company(s). I would test drive at least a MK3, the Mk4 has stability control (which was my need), and drive over some speed humps, road dips, and listen out for clunks and knocks, that indicates you will have to spend some money sorting that out in next year or two. I had a Mk2 which clunked a lot, but was perfectly okay to drive, and had it like that for 4 years and never failed an MOT.

  4. Cruise control. Check when your car is moving that the gear stick is in the 4 position and also that the gear stick is over to the left of the gate and not over to the right. If it is over to the right the cruise control will not work despite showing on the dash its switched on. I have had my LS400 for 5 years and only just found this out myself many thanks to Steve club moderator. Good luck Mike

  5. Had Eibachs on mine since I bought it nearly 5 years ago. The ride is hardly changed but on the road it feels a lot better. I have added Eibach roll bars and that is like driving a different car. Am putting Eibach spacers on next week, 15 at the front and 20 at the back so see how that feels and looks.
