  1. Hi Paul, Junction Block Relay I would buy from Lexus and have a auto electrician fit, and if that doesn t fix it , get a ABS unit from breaker, also important is NEVER take heed of anything Duncan Roberts types, he is ALWAYS negative, he is the devil on your shoulder telling you you are too ugly and your ***** is too small! Also as boxbrownie pointed out join club Lexus US, best thing I ever did, and I run my RX300 on Fiesta money ( not petrol obviously ), every problem is covered, every DIY job has a picture guide so even the worst home mechanic ( me ) can do it. Lexus parts are very expensive ( more than Mercedes ) and their hourly rate is huge, You really do have to be relatively wealthy to have repairs done with them ( their Essential Care Servicing for vehicles over 5 years old isn t too bad if you wish to keep your MDSH ) Good Luck Jason

  3. The mark 4 is an all round better car faster more economical, No real electrical glitches the stereo is fantastic. belt change is 90k as with the 430. VSC traction control & snow mode are a major + The VVTI engine is perfect. The mark3 is superb but the mark 4 is just that bit better all round. & for me better than a 430. Go & try one but at the end of the day if a mint perfect mark3 came about I wouldn't rule it out either.

  4. I have a LS400 and being a large breed dog owner, why did they never make a decent estate version to compete with Mercs? :)

  7. It is available as a dealer programable option only, ask your dealer to alter the setting when next in for a service. See section 30 on the link below for details of this and other options. http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/RX_with_nav_LPS.pdf

  9. You can only power it open with the key. I guess you could ask the dealer to see if itll program differently. The sense behind it is that if you get to the car and press the button, it takes a while to open. In a car dealership, you have the time to wait for it to open because theres nothing better to do. In real life you wont and it'll frustrate. Ive never found it an issue, in the car park I just stick my hand in my pocket and open it before getting to the car so I dont have to wait. And its closed by the time I start the car. Just to point out, the new X5 does look pretty cool but has a lot of features missing which the RX F Sport has as standard including adaptive LED headlights, Heads up display, heated front seats, electric lumbar support, privacy glass etc. An equivalent X5 25d XDRIVE would cost you about £57k mate + its slower and nowhere near as refined. Poor ride and road noise/wind noise is too intrusive.

  10. I thought the VVT-i engine has a timing-belt change at 62,000 miles. Also,. Mk4 has HID headlights and both door mirrors dip down when in reverse gear, not just one. It also has Brake-Assist.

  12. I'm writing this within five minutes of taking both my Mk3 and Mk4 out for a 20-mile drive on this gorgeous day. In a nutshell I would agree that the Mk 4 is the better car. I find it more refined (if that is possible in an LS 400), more powerful and quieter than my Mk 3. I can't tell any difference between the two sound systems, but then, I'm 73 so I can't claim to be a good judge in this area. My two drives today in my mint LS 400s served to remind me how lucky I am. Pepe

  13. I have not experienced the MK3 sound system but can vouch for the system in the Mk4. I have some pretty high end/professional equipment indoors and the system in my Lexus is on a par and in my opinion second to none. I listen to mainly Jazz & Blues and the warmth of sound you get with the system is just amazing. I have never heard bass (without trying to dislocate your vertebrae ) in a car that has the qualities this system has. Mike

  16. Well, that is truly amazing... just had a fantastic cruise back home feeling just a little superior to everyone else on the road. 3 miles on the clock when i picked it up, 112 miles later with an average mpg of 42mpg. Which i think is pretty exceptional considering that was 75mph for 117 miles on M6, M1 and then just a little bit of slower roads. Excellent fuel economy considering it was hardly ever in Electric mode. Yes the suspension is firm but i like it like that, it's an F-sport after all. the best bit of all... on the whole journey i didn't see another single car the same as mine. Well done Lexus... a true gem for us company car drivers :-)

  17. Ouch! If thats the case, really sorry to hear that......bad luck too with the warranty. You could try trawling the US forums for a similar problem, you might get a hint there.
