  1. Hi everyone, I'm thinking of buying a tuning box for my is220d in a bid to cure the turbo lag and help with the overall driving experience. I'm not looking to make the car into a rocket ship but a few more bhp, less lag and more torque would please me. I've looked into a couple of companies and have contacted them. Racechip being the 1st, the cost is 229euro. The box connects to the fuel rail only, I'm unsure if any companies connect there devices to other parts of the engine, aswell as the fuel rail. The 2nd company I've contacted is tdi-tuning, I have not had a reply yet but I have used them in the past for my Golf. Cost from them is more expensive at 291euro. What boxes are other people using?

  2. A measly five hundred quid for your motor is to be expected from a stealership. Private sell is the only way to get nearer to its true value. You should get at least a grand for it, having LPG as well. Hopefully it will go to someone keen on keeping it. I havn't got bored with my mk4 yet. Don't think I ever will. Well, maybe in ten years time when I can afford a 460.

  3. On New Years' Eve I bought a 2003 IS200 Sportcross, pictured below, and promptly joined this club. My previous car was a Nissan Primera 2.0eGTI wanted something at least as good to drive. So, it's not my first Japanese 2-litre 5-door, but definitely the best. I just want to thank you all for taking part in an active owners' forum - it made researching, viewing and buying so much easier.

  4. Know what you mean : ) Love the SportCross practicality. Looks wise— 95% of the time, I love it 5%, I think it looks more like a small hatch (Corolla or something) than a compact exec… :eerrrmm: I have to walk around it and find a better angle :)

  5. I wish i bought a sportcross sometimes. A bike hanging out of the back with springys holding the boot lid down isnt a good look

  10. Thanks for the replies guys! I will post some photos soon. Yea I'm getting used to the sudden power after 4,000rpm! Nice! Had the car just under 2 weeks now, getting used to it. Fuel economy isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I've still got a 1/4 of a tank left, and I've covered 287 miles. Not bad! As for the arm rest, I think I'll give it a miss! Haha! I will however be looking for the 'Sport' grille and the standard 5 spoke alloys!

  11. One of the cheapest and most effective things to do is paint calipers on front and rear brakes. Had red on my old silver IS200. You will be surprised how different it looks.

  12. Obviously changing bulbs is the easiest thing to do. Typical mods include different grills. I have the lx-mode top and lower grills. rear lights can be changed for clear or smoked indicator versions. Or is-f lights. But expect to pay around £400+ for them lip kits and spoilers are availiable. Aswell as lowering kits. And wheels But for customising head over to the lexus form in the usa. They know how to modify cars.
