  1. There has been quite a bit of discussion (and threads) on this before, with some people disabling the seatbelt warning successfully, others not. I managed it with my previous Rav 4 and IS200, so was fairly sure it could be done on other models. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts yesterday, it worked on my 2004 RX300 SE-L as follows: Sit in car, close door, turn IGN to ON (the last position before starting the engine, but no need to actually start engine) and set Odometer to full mileage reading (ie not trip A or B) Turn off, remove key Re-insert key, turn back to ON (as above) Press and hold ODO button for 30 seconds (may be OK with less, but 30 worked for me) whilst still pressing ODO button, clip in seatbelt b_on or b-off appears in ODO display take finger off ODO button, and press again to change between b_on (bleeper on) and b_off (bleeper off) unclip belt and turn off ignition to set I just tried it again as above, and it definitely works. I'm not suggesting you can now drive without a seatbelt on, but it stops the damn thing bleeping in a car park or wherever else you may prefer not to have the belt clipped in.

  4. £690 is a fair price i'd say stuart, I bought mine for £950 but it had service history and recent service/cambelt ect. People are put off by the 3 litre engine yes, but i have honestly not found it any worse than my old auto is200, and the road tax is cheaper (pre mar 2001)

  6. I have owned by is250 V6 petrol for 2 years this month, (2007 model), and having owned over 50 cars in 33 years, this one certainly has hit a huge soft spot with me. It ticks all the boxes and I am looking forward to another 2 years with her unless the numbers come in on a Saturday night and I would have no doubts about trading in for a new Lexus.

  7. So they are not fitting the prins system that doesn't burn up the valves? Did you ask them about IS200 having previous for being killed by LPG? I'd still be asking questions mate and I'd still be dubious. Not looking for argument from the LPG lovers, I agree if it works on your car (such as the LS400 where it's proven to work faultlessly) then it's great, but I'd still be a little cautious. You never hear of LPG going wrong on the LS but there's even a member on this thread that had his IS ruined by LPG. Honestly nothing against LPG, my concern is purely for Stuart and his beloved Zorro! :)

  10. Yeah well say you sell at 200k i think a LPG system would easily pay for itself after 50k but you'll have to do the maths

  11. Thats not negative Stuart, that's the MPG the car was meant to return on combined driving figures infact 30.6 mpg is an improvement. :)

  12. ah must me a different car then, nvm. Not many Aero's about so i thought he might of sold it Edgton eh, i used to go wet sponge throwing there when i was a kid lol Only reason i thought you were joking Chris is i thought IS's go well into the 2k's without any problems. I once asked on here. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/81107-so-what-kind-of-mileage-do-iss-start-going-wrong/ but yeah its well above average, but i think Stuart's heading there quite quickly lol

  15. I am really keen to attend, as would like to see what the fuss is about these LS400's :) The only thing putting me off is that it's a 300 mile round trip for me. I hope the weather gets nicer by April so I can find the motivation needed to make the trip. I will be keeping a tab on this thread...

  17. Hi Spike, Thanks for the reply, I am not surprised about the petrol consumption as you say it is a 2.5 V6 and I have not really had a chance to have a long run in it. If I could get over 40 mpg I too would be over the moon. Yes you are correct the Mark Levinson system is excellent. My previous Mazda had a Bose system which was not bad (if not a little heavy on the bass). However the ML system is crystal clear and given how quiet the car is it is a joy. No I must admit first impressions of the Lexus have not been disappointing and it is so much better to look at that BMW and Audi.
