  1. Hello There! My name is Bruce, I am located in Buenos Aires, Argentina and I buyed an IS200 with 50.000 Kms on it.. its in very good shape and mechaically prefect! The deal was that this unit has some electrical problems and i registered the forum to see if I can get any help from you guys! I am a electronic technical (or electrician,?? ) and feel pasion for cars and mechanics.. In our familly we have an GS300 and now this beautifull is200. here are some pics of my ride...! Only 13 units were sold in Argentina so its like a exotic car here! Its a shame lexus isnt any more in my country.. so Its very difficoult to find information about this car. (toyota dealers dont have much clue about this beauties) I hope I can share my experience with other cars and get some advice from the forum and also improve my writing as you can imagine English is not my natural language. I will write a post in the lexus is200/ lexus is300 section to see if I can get these little problems solved.. Thanks in advance.. Bruce.

  5. Welcome to the club. Like Tony my car is fairly high mileage - now on 153k and still very smooth, quiet, powerful and comfortable. Overall mixed driving at 33mpg I am not quite matching Tony but think that is pretty good. If you do mostly motorway you will be able to beat that. I have had no issues at all other than normal servicing and replacing rear calipers discs and pads recently but that's to be expected. I would go for it..

  6. Hi Hayne, I run a 2006 GS450h as my working car, current mileage is almost 180,000 of which I have covered 160,000. To date no faults of any kind ! never broken down or caused a moments worry. The car still looks and drives like new which given the complexity is astounding. Ave MPG is 36 over every type of roads making this the cheapest nice car I have owned by a huge margin. And it still makes me grin with the performance every day.

Luxury,is getting into my LS,turning the key,and it starts first time, driving off, gliding,I think is the word I'm looking for, down the road, and being able to converse with my occasional passenger, without having to raise my voice, listening to the Radio, the sound coming out of quality speakers, the heated seats warming my bum nicely,mm ,I'm getting bored with this..........

  11. This is my diary on the LS430 that I purchased on 25/10/13 On an autumnal day in late October 2013, I am carless. After writting off my SAAB 9-3 a couple of weeks prior, my wife has contacted me on my mobile that the insurance mafia have arrived to take my slightly damaged car to its grave. I am heading towards Derby by rail - over 100 miles away on a gamble that a car will be purchased. On arrival at the car trader, the first thing I see is the immaculate deep dark green (almost black) LS430 that has been advertised on the Autotrader. The test drive is convincing, and I buy the 13 year old car at £3490, with 160,000 miles on the clock, FLSH, mint exterior and interior.....thinking this is either the best or worst decision. My Drive Back I don't want it to end - what a car. So stress-free, that I am even ready to make peace with my enemies. The in-car music has clarity, and of course is unaffected due to the silent ride. My First Few Days I hate shopping trips....but if it means driving the LS430 then lets go! I hate getting up early for work..... but if it means driving the LS430, then no problem! Ok, early days yet, and it may become a money pit if something goes wrong.....but sometimes you have to let heart rule over head. It has been a good few days. (This diary will be updated)

  12. I used the ones on the link below. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161025002710?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 They are 4 wire sensors so you have 2 heater wires both the same colour then a ground wire and the signal output wire.

  13. Almost 5000 miles in 10 weeks - car says 55.1 - real use by fill up log 52.6 Mainly hilly south Pennine driving with 4 X 500 mile motorway trips at 'normal speed' ;) . Can't see a difference between economy setting and normal with a light foot! Did get a car reading of 60 on one 250 mile segment.

  14. Hi there, Stumbled across this thread when severely disappointed with our MPG figures (800 miles). I have done all the things you read about - driven smoothly, no hard accelerating, and almost zero braking (planning ahead), maintaining fixed speed etc. - all added up to 47mpg! We're seeing our dealer to see what else we can do to improve things, but at the moment it's a bit of a joke. One very revealing thing (and the main reason I'm posting) is that the EPA (USA equivalent of our EU testing) rates the car at 42mpg. Does that kind of number sound familiar? I thought so... seems like they know how to test a bit more realistically! Given the octane difference between the US and UK, plus my obsessive driving style, 47mpg seems ok now. So.. buyer beware... I know I'll be checking the EPA figures before buying my next car! Raj
