  1. Just stumbled across this on youtube, it's a Leyland video, brings back memories of some pretty poor cars, see if you can spot all the actors of the day pretending to be leyland workers, including the lovely Maddy Smith, the hammy bloke off crossroads, Hercule himself, and a few others. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTCfJKNE2hg

  2. I like the fact you have parked in the mother and children part I went to Asda before and looked quite silly trying to squeeze it into a small space !! In future I will just take my mum shopping with me as I have no children and I am her child !!!!!

  3. Paradoxicly it is not the belt that fails, usually the tensioners or more importantly the water pump that goes and causes the belt to strip its teeth. This happened on my mark 1 just after its second belt change @ 122k .I would definitly change the belt , water pump and tensioners at 120k after that experience.Water pump is not down as a service interval renewal but experience's suffered by myself and other members point to a second cambelt interval renewal.

  5. Pete and Asharb, I'm complaining to Sainsbury's and Tesco Security for allowing you two to a free read! Then I'm complaining to WH Smiths for becoming a "magazine library"!

  7. There have been three artists who REALLY made me sit up and take notice. Elvis when I was just a nipper in late 50s, then Bob Dylan followed by Hendrix in the 60s. They all had a sound like nothing that had gone before, or to be more accurate, nothing that I'd heard. Later I realised Elvis was inspired by black artists that had never really been heard in the UK, and Dylan was heavily influenced by Woody Guthrie. Hendrix, on the other hand, came from outer space!!

  8. I have to say, if I was in the market I would have gone to see this one at least. No record of a cam belt change etc could mean getting it for less than 2K, especially as it says ovno. I didn't want to marry the guy who sold me mine, but nearly 10,000 miles later I'm glad I made the effort to drive from Sussex to Birmingham to see it. Plus I love the colour combination of the body and leather.

  9. Brits are known to be very good at bringing new ideas but always fail on build quality and reliability.. were as the Japs dont bring the ideas, but take an existing one and improve on it. manufactures like Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda always take up top spots in most reliable well built cars and this has gone on for years..
