  1. All I know is I was treated more than fairly in regards to compensation for the errors made on my conversion & everything was sorted properly. The owner of profess is honest ( in my experience) & will do the right thing. I am not party to all the facts so better to ask the member who didn't get his conversion done as it was a Di engine how things are going as he will know more about it than me. not wishing to appear rude.

  2. Hi back from Wales Hew has gone as well as Leon. I had a long discussion with Andrez (Anndrew) He has appointed a new member of staff to deal with the office side of things if he isn't available to answer the phone. Chesterfield is up & running with a top installer present & it looks like its going to expand in the not too distant future. The quality of the work I saw this weekend was up to their usual high standards & with Hew gone (nice bloke but not really cut out for the office role) there should be no more mix ups. PS You couldn't wish to meet a more honest bloke than Andrez.

  3. This senario shows just how dependent owners have become on electronic monitoring systems like the TPMS to flag up a problem in this case with tyre pressures. Had this been a conventional vehicle with standard valves and the correct periodic tyre pressure checks had been carried out this situation with corroded valves may never had occured as the damage would probably have been noticed and addressed before the valves reached the stage they have on this vehicle. One question I have to ask is are the valves with TPMS not replaced as a matter of course when the tyres are replaced, as with standard valves or are they due to the cost left in service with the replacement tyres to end up as in this case corroded to the point of becoming a safety issue? Call me old fashioned but it takes 5 minutes to check my tyre pressures and at the same time check the tread and both sidewalls for unseen damage, one thing these electronic systems cannot do.

  4. Lexus official metal dust caps normally don’t corrode on, but if you buy your own they might, so put a little Vaseline on the thread and unscrew and screw them up again every couple of months just to make sure they don’t seize. Keep the wheels and valves free of brake dust this will also prevent corrosion. The wheel shown below was of my 2008 GS 450h, 4 years old when I sold it.

  5. Just re-read your post and noticed only 5 months since purchased. Don't worry about warranty as you are covered by Sale of Goods Act which means that the onus is on the dealer to prove that the valves were not faulty when you purchased the car. Just make sure you get to dealer ASAP since this "reverse burden of proof" lasts until you have had the vehicle for 6 months. Sale of Goods Act will mean that sales not service are liable.

  6. Should be covered, certainly not a normal wear & tear item that they could exclude. Check your warranty VERY carefully.

  7. That's definitely corrosion damage, could have been a different outcome if it corroded any more and blew off at speed. I'd say it should be covered under warranty as it's a safety issue as well. If they are willing to do repair, make sure all 4 are done as others are no doubt suffering as well.

  8. I had a 300 and liked it so much I chopped it in for a 430. Petrol wise there's very little difference. Both mine were SE's so can't comment on Sport, that said both are comfy without being wallowy like certain MB's I've had in the past. Interior is a nice nice place to be, standard hi-fi is excellent, no rust and all the toys you need. Can't fault it.

  9. Well i never!!!!! I used to have an 220d but due to gearbox issues i got rid and got myself an IS250. Good god! what a difference! Dont get me wrong the 220d was wonderful and did the job exactly but the 250 is a different breed in my eyes. I just love driving it. I like all the silly extras like the rear sun blind which even automatically goes down when you put it in reverse lol. Love the Park assist and colour camera though still not used to it, i like my mirrors. The engine is so smooth, my wife commented on the difference straight away. I tried the PWR button today and oh my god........what a difference it makes, its roars like a tiger when setting off and has a wicked punchy sporty feel to it specially when braking as it gears down more aggressively. Loving the Levison Stereo although i need to mod the DVD so missus can watch a film while on a journey (i know its not allowed but im not daft either, i look at the screen anyway with the sat nav) All in all i love this car, like i say just the silly extras like sun blind, custom seat settings (very useful with the missus been taller than me so no more fiddling about) the auto tint rear view mirror etc etc. Such a pleasure to drive. Also I am getting better fuel economy than the diesel which has suprised me! well i have had my say, im like a kid with a new toy, think i i will be using the PWR button tonight to get me home quicker to see if my GTA 5 has come !!! Pics to follow when i can hold the camera still from all the excitement!

  10. I may have to part with my 250 (unfortunately) as I need a heavier car to tow my newly acquired caravan. Blimey Geoff that's a bind. What about a lightweight tent!!

  11. They are great cars, I usually drive the 220 as I do more miles but whenever I drive the 250 it just feels so much smoother plus like yours it's an SE-l with all the toys. I even have the sunroof on mine. I find the blind particularly satisfying when Mr Audi pulls up to my boot on the motorway as the often impatient drivers do and I put the blind up. It's kinda like saying up yours. Almost thought about sticking a finger on my blind, that could be novel.lol

  13. 600 or larger versions of the Fazer or Bandit? I've owned both 600 and 1000 Fazers and had a 1250 Bandit never had a VFR but rode a friends, nice bike. Bandit - best engine, so much torque and so smooth, finish a bit poor but that's Suzuki. Fazer 600 95 bhp 1999 version, absolute hoot so easy to ride but budget suspension soons gets tired and engine finish not great 2003 Fazer 1000, revvy, smooth and bloody fast I wish I'd never sold it so that's where my money would go. Try FOCU website (it's not rude).
