  3. I remember my late Father who had an Austin A35 and whilst travelling through Derbyshire heard a slight knocking noise from the engine. After carefully driving back home it was looked at by a local garage who diagnosed worn big end bearings. Thirty odd pounds later the engine was rebuilt plus you got the "Running in Please Pass" sticker for the rear window. I would imagine the sticker nowadays with high performance cars would be "Running in TRY and pass me!"

  5. Personally, I would travel any distance in the UK to attend a Lexus Owners Club meet,-if last Sundays East Midlands ( my first) was anything to go by, I'd take me and my LS anywhere to repeat the experience, a finer bunch of people I never met. I'd be up for an overnighter, camping sounds good, -as I mentioned on a previous thread, I wouldn't mind taking responsibility for cooking the food,( barbecue ?) It would also give members a better chance to get to know each other, something not achievable on a one-day meet, whatever we decide, count me in.

  11. I agree with the above, Take it back to garage and tell them to repair all faults or you will take it further.

  12. Hi and welcome to LOC. As Steve said, the battery going flat cant blow the alternator fuse! They either put the battery on wrong or connected the jump leads incorrectly if they tried to jump start it. I'd take it back and tell them you know exactly what they've done wrong so sort it please. Makes you think what kind of mechanic connects the battery terminals incorrectly :/

  13. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I think the garage is telling you some cover up rubbish, a flat battery would not blow the 120A fuse, there wouldn't be enough current if the battery was flat. It sounds more like they have either taken the battery off to recharge it and reversed the terminals or tried to jump start it and reversed the leads. If it was all OK electrically before you left it with them for body repairs I would be going back and asking them to get it back to its original condition at their expense. The damage could be extensive and expensive to sort if you are talking damaged ECUs. I'll move this topic to the IS section for a better response from fellow members.
