Hello everyone!

I recently picked-up an IS200 Sport, and I thought what would be a better way to introduce myself than to post pics of my new possession!

So here it goes: :)

I chose the IS200 Sport because spec-wise it reminded me a lot of my old Nissan Skyline GT back home in Australia. I must say that I am very pleased with the overall quality of the IS200 after driving it for the last couple of days!

Just one question, would anyone know if it is possible to swap the indicator and wiper stalks around? The reason I ask is because pretty much every car back home have the indicator stalk on the right side, and this is the arrangement that I am more familiar with :)

cheers all!

So... three years later and my trusty IS200 Sport has been swapped for a GS450h SE-L. Wise move? Only time will tell :)

I've only had the car for about two days, but everything that I've read about it appears to be true so far; it's fast, smooth, and very relaxing to drive. The brisk acceleration from any speed is certainly its party piece, and watching the hybrid system in action is very interesting. Average consumption has been 35 mpg (according to the computer). A totally different animal to the IS200 then, to put it another way.

That said, I do feel that the GS450h lacks the overall solidness of the IS200. What used to be a reassuring "thud" in the IS (when shutting the boot, closing the doors, etc) feels more like a "clunk" in the GS. And its interior certainly creaks a lot more than the IS.

Now for some pics:

I also just realised one more thing: the IS200 had a silver exterior with a black interior, which made it easier to keep it looking spotless for longer. The GS450h on the other hand has a dark exterior with a bright interior... happy days :P

This is true for all series I, II and III GSs unfortunately. The latest series IV is a huge step up.

Still congrats on the new car, I'm sure you will enjoy it. :)

Cheers Stu and Colin!

Looking forward to learning more about this car and its tech in the miles to come :)

Hello peeps,

As they say, all good things must come to an end. After six great years with my GS (and 9 years of Lexus ownership), the time has come to bid farewell to my car. This is as regrettable a sale as it gets as I was really looking forward to enjoying the car this year, especially after having invested in brand new shocks and exhaust just December last year. Unfortunately, with change in circumstances due to the pandemic (and some belt-tightening that followed) it just got harder to justify running two cars. As such, the GS was SORNed after the first lockdown and has been accumulating dust in the garage ever since, save for one trip out last month for servicing. It has been heartbreaking just watching it sit unused.

Then, a good friend of mine (and a big fan of my GS from the day I got it) received his well-deserved Christmas bonus yesterday and promptly made an offer that I couldn't refuse. I agreed to the sale on the condition that I get first refusal if he decides to sell it on! 🙂

Thanks to everyone in this community who made my Lexus ownership experience that much more special. Will pop by from time to time and say hi!
