I am the only person who drives my car, so I have set my memory seat positions up in a way to make it easier to reverse / parallel park.

Position 1 is my usual settings.

Position 2 is the exact same settings, but with the wing mirrors angled down so I can see the kerbs better.

So, when I come to park, I simply slip into P, hit seat position 2, and park.

Once parked, back in P, hit seat position 1 and the mirrors come back up to their normal setting.

Not rocket science I know, but thought I would post it here in case any other owners haven't thought of it.

Blinking brilliant! Why didn't I think of that? Love it.

That's right up there with the "press mark as you pass a speed camera and after a few days your satnav beeps at you every time you approach one" method I've been doing for a while, also recommended on here.

I'm not sure if this works on the GS but it's worth a try, on the LS400's, if you leave the switch for the mirrors to the left side then select reverse, and it auto dips.

It's a pity it's not standard on the GS300. It was on my Ford Scorpio.

Matt - you could try putting a large capacitor from the Reverse signal to the memory switch - it may let enough current through to do it automatically. Use another one for Neutral so it reverts back. The capacitor will let the + signal through for a slit second.

The switches will still work as normal.

e.g.

Reverse+------CAP------ switch programmed for reverse+

Neutral + -------CAP------- normal switch +

Assuming the switches are of a positve trigger of course.

sounds like the sort of thing you might try Geoff - not me!

:lol::lol:

I'll stick to using the memory seats I think

nice idea though - maybe one of the more 'mechanically competent' owners will try.

Geoff my man! Hope all is well :winky:

Any can something simular be done on IS's? I know we don't have a memory button, but you the man of electronics :P :winky:

The IS doesn't have position sensors for the mirror glass so you could only do it on a timer. The problem is the speed of movement is not 100% consistent so after only a few movements the glass will go out of position.
