Deactivating The Alarm

hi, am having some work done on my car next week and would like to dis-arm the alarm, I have noticed sometimes my alarm seems to activate its self when I have opened the doors and then walked away and I have come back to the car and opened the door and set the alarm off !!!.as it's a mobile mechanic doing the work on the car and I will be leaving to work while I'm away from the car I would like to make sure the alarm doesn't go off .

Dis-connect the Battery? the doorlocks still work with the key to enable the mechanic to leave the vehicle secure if he's done and gone before you get back.

Depending what he's doing Steve he may dis-connect it anyway.
