Just Picked Up My Isf

Recommended Posts

All – just wanted to say hello – have been on the LS400 forum for a while and now wanted to share my new purchase 2009 ISF – brings the household to 12.5 litres now between my LS (which I intend to keep), my wife’s Rx450h and now the mighty ISF!

Picked it up last night –private sale from Buckinghamshire and drove it back up to Nottinghamshire late last night – what a machine! A bit different from the LS of course but seems to be great for pootling around in as well as having a good old blast too. I am not unused to speed – I also have a Honda Fireblade but the ISF is certainly the quickest thing I have owned/driven on four wheels.

Big thanks to Jamie ex ISF owner now GS450 owner) who I exchanged a number of messages with before the purchase.

The car is in white – it’s done a big mileage (109k) but is a one owner (long standing successful company director) and has full history – in short the gentleman I purchased it from is for me exactly the kind of individual I wanted to deal with – the condition is superb and the car has wanted for nothing.

Many thanks for all your postings which helped me come to my decision. Quick picture attached (if I have done this properly)

Awesome, nice job with the purchase. I saw that car on autotrader and thought it was an absolute bargain. It was obvious from the advert that it was a great car that had been very well looked after.

The mileage means nothing on these - there are loads of owners in the U.S. with huge mileage cars without having any problems. Love them in white too!

Another one joins the fold and kept in a Lexus family so you will already appreciate the great aspects of the brand. Say it all the time but a truly incredible car.

Congratulations Nick. :)

Very nice example from what I can see.

As others have already said, mileage is nothing to worry about on these amazing cars provided they are looked after (clearly this one was).

Keep an eye out for upcoming meets. Be nice to have another one in attendance.

Wishing you many happy miles of motoring! :driving:

Cheers.

Thanks guys - had another good run in it today and another one planned for tomorrow - have had lots of compliments about it although not sure my neighbours are too impressed with the noise!

Am popping to see my contact in Lexus Hull tomorrow - he said on the phone a couple of weeks ago that they could potentially put on a two year warranty for I think was 795 - I don't normally take out warranties but that sounds like a good deal.

Sorry if I being thick but bit worried about the wheels the wrong way round comment - please explain!

Thanks

Nick

Hey Nick,

See here on my old OEM wheels.

cf07679a1fea395faa60a4ae57d0c2a8_zps46c0

Notice each spoke has a blade like design? The idea is as the wheel rotates, it pushes airflow to the brakes to aid cooling.

If you have them the wrong way around, the spokes push the hot air back on the brakes.

All you need to do is have a garage put the drivers side wheels on the passenger side, and the passenger side wheels on the drivers side.

See how each spoke on mine goes ridge, flat, ridge, flat.....

Now look at yours. Flat, ridge, flat, ridge.......

If you visualise it in motion, you'll see how yours blocks air, mine cut air towards the brakes.

Hope this helps. :)

Guessing you mean my Aerworx carbon front splitters?? ;)

Got them from a group guy in the U.S. chap. :)

Mine may be for sale at some point. Thinking of getting a full carbon front lip. :)

I'll let you know mate.

Cheers.

I went for the warranty. The price represents 2 years for the price of 1 and it wouldn't take much to rack up £800 costs if anything breaks in 2 years. Apparently it is transferable if you sell it privately

Thanks guys - was at Lexus Hull yesterday and yes the wheels are wrong way round - will be in for a service shortly so will be sorted and then look at warranty too - apparently it is transferable for a small fee.

I have read quite a bit previously about the sport mode but couldn't see one on the car - was assuming it would be by he gear stick - did smile to myself yesterday when I found the magic button - it is a bit tucked away isn't it? Definitely worth finding though!

  • 2 weeks later...

No not yet - went to see them last week - when I get the 110k service done they will do it then. That will be in about 6 wks time.

I always assumed that you could only taken out / renew the extended warranty if your car was currently covered by a Lexus warranty. Otherwise, what is stopping you from waiting until something goes wrong, then buying the warranty?

Lovely car by the way
