Average Mpg

Very quick one guys....

Is there any way to reset the computer display average MPG when you start a trip? I know it aint 100% accurate, but will give an idea when completeing different types of trip.

I'm not 100% on this but I think the tank average only resets itself on fill-up

I think also, only when you fill it up, it can be reseted automaticly

iirc.......think it goes like this.

While your screen is displaying AVG....press and hold DISP for a few seconds until the figure zeros to 0.0

Yes, Normski is right, you can set the average for a trip by doing as he says. For some reason though I thought that the OP meant the tank average. Sorry!

you can display the 'tank avg' OR the 'trip avg'. the tank avg resets when you fill up, the trip avg resets when you press and hold the display button on the steering wheel while 'avg' is displayed in the panel.

Works on mine...thats odd then! I had a 220d MY 07 and I could reset one for sure.

What happens if you scroll to Tank Avg and then press DISP? Does that go to 0.0?

My 220d was an 07 and I could do it on that. You definitely can't reset the tank average, that sets itself on fill-up as mentioned above.

The others way to do it it's by removing Battery contacts(one of it) over night. Will reset the mpg, all of them... but also any other settings time, radio i.e.

I do this any 6months or so as computer resetting also/

Guess what, on my way home I tried holding in the display button again and hey presto - IT WORKED.
