Nope my car would look absolutely daft on 15"... I'm on 19" and don't find the ride harsh at all

My other LS ive got is on 18" and again rides not been compromised when I went up from 16s to 18s

DHP wheels are 17" on mine, they are the smallest I could live with on a big car like the LS400. Ride is extremely soft in comparison to bmws I have owned.

Zero side wall visibility seems to be the thing.

The ride in the LS400 is soft but having developed oval wheels in previous low profile wheel - potholes in the dark - I prefer as well stiffened sidewall - even if it make the LS a bit old fashioned looking and slightly edgy when cornering at speed.

Agree with Kenan that compared to just about any German car, the Lexus is a heck of a lot softer, just takes a while to get used to the handling - took me about 3 weeks with my first LS.

15 or 16 might be a bit much if you ask me. I'm quite happy with 4 + 1 spare :)

Old Citroens always had deep tyres -Michelins especially designed for the DS for example.

The CX Turbo had metric tyres that I switched to deeper ones for a better -SOFTER!- ride.

mine has 17 inch wheels and the ride is not harsh at all, extremly smooth and quiet, especially compared to my old company bmw 530d i drove before, although it the ls do'esnt handle as well, but i would rather have comfort

I guess the point is that whilst you are happy with the comfort on 17" wheels it could be even better if it was running on 15s?

Anything under 17" on such a big car just isn't going to sell against the competition these days. The bigger the better attitude wins here unfortunately. Lexus feel they have to appeal to the person who wants form over function - shown by the need to move to 20" wheels on the latest RX that has just been announced.
