Intermittent Electronic Beeps In My 2010 Gs 450H

A comment in the IS300H Forum prompts me to ask this question here.

I hear intermittent electronic beeps for no apparent reason when driving. In the 300h this is attributable to "speed camera warnings."

Does anyone know what these beeps are in my 2010 GS?

I haven`t driven fast since Stirling Moss had his near fatal crash!!

Yes, been through the manual although at a total of some 950 pages, I admit that I could have missed it!!

I will ask Lexus, but we owners generally are more aware of the foibles of older models.

Beeps can also occur if you are too near an obstacle , and get faster till to be constant at less than a fixed distance...

Hi,

Have you got the front/corner parking sensors switched on (green indicator in lh of instrument cluster)?

If yes then each time you get close to a car/bus/lorry on either front corner you will get a series of bleeps untli the obstacle clears the sensor. Same if someone gets close to you. Sensor detects at all speeds with graphic indicator (full screen or small) appearing on centre screen.

Happens on my 450h all the time...........

if the parking sensors are causing this then have a look through your manual if you can alter the sensitivity - on the LS430 you can.

BTW im still torn between changing to a GS450h from and LS430

do the beeps repeatedly happen at the same location? If so then it would be tied to the Sat Nav.

The sounds are not related to Parking Sensors, any particular location or speed.

The "beeps" or "short jingle" are similar to the jingle and screen message (which occur shortly after I switch on ) telling me that the Bluetooth connection has been made to my telephone.

It occurs intermittently without any screen message. The previous owner had a portable player of some kind attached and I wonder if it might be related to that as I am unable to delete it from the screen based system?

I think that the mystery has been solved !

My youngest daughter has been to visit this weekend from Sussex as my wife is currently hospitalised. She spotted instantly that my phone was always connected and that I had 10 unanswered calls/messages from O2 !!

She deleted all of them and now, peace and quiet again. Happy Days and "silly old dad"
