thanks for asking really loud when cold but when hot you can't tell anything is wrong

Engine oil would be my first thought, if you have recently bought the car and not had it changed before, replace with a fully Synthetic oil and see if that sorts it.

ive had the car for 2 years now its never let me down

I changed the oil and filter 2000 miles ago but it was only cheap oil

so ive got some Mobil 1 fully synthetic hope that works

Hi All,

I have the same issue: tapping noise when the E/G is cold and disappears when warmed-up. Valve clearance checked and found within factory spec. I am using full synth 5W30 changed recently.

Any ideas?
