ls400lpg Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Hi I have 245 45 18 on my ls400. They are quite harsh!!! Could anyone please recommend a bigger sidewall without rubbing?
Titch LS Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 You could always go back to original fitment i.e. 225/60/16. Guaranteed to be nowhere near as harsh. 2
Ruud Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 If you go for a taller sidewall and keep the same width, your speedo will be off. Here's a handy website that does the calculations for you www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html
oldhazey Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Im on 225/45/18 with 8j rim width ET35,can be a little harsh on big pot holes, but on a run its ok, i get no rubbing 245/45/18 is a very close match to original rolling radius. just -2mm overall
ls400lpg Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 I have decided I am going for 250 45 18. Just hope they do not rub when they fit them.
Chris Skelton Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 "Just hope" they don't rub? A bit of an expensive gamble? The space under the arches isn't huge. And 'rubbing' might have safety aspects. AND, you need to tell insurance company of alteration!
